The Park Hyatt Paris is a great choice if you are looking for a modern hotel, with excellent location, professional and friendly service. The design stands out, so do the bathrooms. Of you want to try something different than the old and stuffy hotels like the Ritz or the Four Seasons try the Park Hyatt!

Pretty...But still a Hyatt.

I stayed here a couple of nights recently and found this hotel, although very nicely decorated (including the beautiful staff), relatively average compared to other hotels of this price range in Paris. The deluxe room I had was small, had only one uncomfortable chair and was dark because it was on a low floor on the inside of the hotel. The bathroom was very attractive, but, the dressing area was adjacent to the shower and had no doors so the clothes were damp after a shower. The staff are all very attractive young people, but, are inexperienced. I tried to make a reservation through the concierge for dinner at a very popular brasserie and was convinced to change it to what became a very ordinary tourist trap. But, what was the worst part of the stay was that the place was filled with some sort of software convention with a bunch of loud bumpkins in plaid shirts and khaki pants. So if you are planning a stay in a slick, cool, sophisticated boutique city hotel stay somewhere else. This place is a Hyatt.

At almost 550 Euro/night, a hotel should exceed expectations, and the Park Hyatt did. The hotel design is gorgeous-modern, but warm. The rooms were nicely sized, with a huge walk in closet, comfortable beds, and great bathrooms with excellent shower, tub, and warmed tile floors. Room service was prompt. Every staff member was helpful, friendly and spoke English (including the doorman who ran out onto the sidewalk to cover me with an umbrella). The hotel is also centrally located in Paris. Overall, an excellent (albeit expensive) choice that I would love to visit again.

The Park Hyatt stands out in Paris through its acclaimed design. It is not just modern, it is timeless architecture with all the features you need as a traveller.

Design is not all. The service is the best I have seen in many years. People just know what it takes to make a demanding guest happy, and yes I am a very demanding. From the bellman to the Concierge, room service, breakfast room, throughout, young, professional and just good.

Congratualations Hyatt for this superb addition to your chain!

Park Hyatt's are generally excellent but, even so, I thought this one was a bit pricey. But, I must say, while it is pricey it may even be worth it. Other reviewers describe the wodnerful bathrooms and the shower that makes you want to stay in it until your skin wrinkles. The bed is incredible and the room's windows open into a large courtyard that allows you to open a window and get fresh air with absolute quiet. It just doesn't get better.

By the way, the breakfast buffett is not to be missed. Excellent choices and in a city with thousands of gourmet restaurants, this one stands out. The fresh fruit with a hint of mint is superb

When it comes to service, it is probably the most down to earth and professional service I have seen in Paris. No arrogance, no snippy French "no, this is not possible" answers. The staff is ever friendly and very professional. Anything goes at all times.

Great city hotel

After staying in many hotels and not founding one which suited us (my partner and I are in our late twenties) we found the Park Hyatt to be perfect.

The location is super for some great shopping and it is also loacted near some lovely bars and restaurants.

The staff were very good and very helpful.

We will be staying there again.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Park Hyatt Vendome for 5 nights in March. I've been to every 5 star hotel in Paris and this one by far was my favorite. Not saying that Paris doesn't have its fair share of awesome hotels..but the feel of this one was the best. The others tended to be more museum-like and rather stiff. I like how this hotel incorporated luxury with a less formal or "stuffy" feeling.

The staff was all young, helpful, bilingual and not to mention extremely attractive. The bartenders at Le Bar were unbelievable and so friendly and made a hell of a drink. I was always told the French, didn't particularly care for Americans. I found that to be totally untrue at this hotel.

The room was huge, high tech, clean and amazingly comfy. The beds were out of this world.

Probably the best feature of these rooms were the bathrooms. The heated limestone floors and the abundance of closet space were totally cool. The rain shower is one of man's best inventions..not to mention the sink in the shower. You really could spend hours in there!

All in all, I just wanted to let people know that this hotel's location was perfect. The staff was perfect. The bar, the room, the rain shower, the food....EVERYTHING was PERFECT! Stay there while in the City of Lights! I always will..

Excellent service. A good looking Parisien girl is checking you in and shows you around the hotel. The luggage is already there, when you arrive which is so rare these days in any hotel.

Very nice design, everything is modern, which is again rare in Europe.

Skip the Ritz

Skip the Ritz. Loved my 4 days here.

Great design--sophisticated, calm, quiet but hip. Limestone baths are terrific. Large shower areas with separate but connected tub. Luxuriate!

Bar, breakfast room, terrace, and Le Parc were all top notch. Relaxed elegance with friendly, young, bilingual staff.

Expensive. Save $ with American Express Platinum service (free breakfast and open use of minibar -- worth $125+ per day).

Will stay there again. A splurge, but worth it. Younger, hipper crowd in upscale, convenient location.

Ritz (100 yards away) seemed stiff and old in comparison. Unless you're a head of state, skip it.

Sleek and Chic but Lousy A/C

This hotel is impossibly sleek and chic with a superb location steps from the Place Vendome. Shopping on the Rue St. Honore is a block away and so is the Tuilleries Garden and the Louvre Museum. The shower had incredible water pressure. The bed and linens were comfortable. The one downside was the air-conditioning. We called the reception and they promised a service call. After waiting for a serviceman to no avail, we called a third time, only to be told (finally!), that the entire hotel was having a problem with the air-conditioning and there was nothing that could be done. We slept in humid conditions for three nights. There is no excuse for lack of air-conditioning, something that Americans are very finicky about!

Top Local Tips for Paris

Handicapped Access If you have a documented handicapped id, you and your companion can get into all the museums and tourist attractions without paying a fee/or a reduced fee. You also, don't need to stand in a line. Just show your id and go right in. At the Eiffel tower, we paid 1/2 price and by passed the enormous line waiting for the lift. At most places, we paid nothing. Just follow signs for handicap. The French are very helpful. Also, at many metros, look for handicap entrance with lifts.. or the steps might do you in. Also, insist that the airline have help for you at all airports...CDG is enormous.

Paris with young children Paris has carousels everywhere, our favorite being across from the Eiffel Tower and in the Tuilleries. Our son also loved the pony rides in the Tuilleries.

Learn the Paris Metro The Metro is easy to use and the maps are excellent. It's very inexpensive as well. When we got tired or try a different neighborhood, we just jumped the Metro.
