Among real Parisians
The Novotel Vaugirard Hotel is a comfortable hotel. A lot of people live in the general nieghborhood and its fun to be among Parisians, not other tourists. You can sit in a sidewalk cafe and watch the people walking their poodles and carrying their french bread and wine to their homes. A subway is a half-block from the hotel. The AC doesn't put out as much cold air as you might be used to in an American hotel, but that's true of most hoels in Europe. I liked the shower being on one side of the room and the toilet being in another location. If you have two people in a room, that can be time efficent. A big hotel, not the Ritz, but it will give you a feeling of being in Paris among Parisians. I think the shop keepers around the hotel are a lot friendler than in the more touristy areas. For me it was satisfying to figure out the subway system and I was in the Latin Quarter in about fifteen minutes.
