We were a party of eight and had four rooms at the mansart hotel, it was the only three star hotel we stayed at on this 6 week trip in europe,the remainder being four or five star hotels. To this day we all have the fondest memories of our one week stay here. Every detail about this very fine hotel is top class. The place vendome your on it. The new park hyatt right across the street. The breakfast superb. The rooms extremely large and well appointed,not 4 seasons perfection but neither was the price. Granted we had some of their better quality rooms which were still a relative bargain, still in all in terms of value for the dollar this hotel cannot be beat. Having spent my entire life in the hotel business I know a lot about hotels and have no qualms giving the Mansart hotel Paris my strongest reccomendation.rbm

Top Local Tips for Paris

Don't miss Don't miss (1) the museum, L'Orangerie, just down from the Louvre - really special private collection of Pauls Guillaume - Utrillo's, Modigkliani's, Soutine's, Picasso's, Derain's, & Laurencin's you won't see anywhere else - also the to oval rooms with murals of Monet's Lilies and nymphs surrounding you in splendor. If you can't get to Giverny, this is the next best thing! (2) Paris' oldest Church, L'Eglise St. Julien le Pauvre - great for intimate local classical music concerts. Just off the Blvd St Michel near the Notre Dame, on the Left Bank.(3) Walking up the Seine from the Eiffel Tower at night - most romantic walk with the twinkling light show of the Tour Eiffel. (4) Walk all over the Marais -day and night - yes the falafel at L'As Falafel or any of the others on the Rue Rosiers was fabulous, inexpensive and fun - so said my son and stepdaughter, both in their twenties.

Take a taxi from airport into city A taxi from CDG airport costs around 40 - 50 euros so if there are 3 or 4 of you, no matter what your budget, it is worth taking one to avoid the hassle involved in using public transport.

Fantastic location From the Mansart we could easily walk to the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, the Opera Garnier, the Madeleine, the Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysees. It is also convenient to the Metro.
