The place is in the middle of a very busy area. To be exact, it's right beside Gare De l'Est. So imagine the volume of people in the streets. In fact, there's never a dull moment in the area. Of course you'll meet and see all sorts of people, but hey, that's part of the excitement. If you're on a budget and spends most of your time enjoying the rest of Paris, then this is a good enough place to stay. Don't expect too much in terms of accomodations, it's no Hilton, it's very spartan. You must be ready to rough it up if you wanna stay here. Worked for me, just consider it an adventure!

Don't ever stay here! Shower didn't work, towels size of napkins, fag burns in the duvet covers. Just a horrible, manky place.

Avoid staying here at all costs. Spend a wee bit more!! Very, very poor!!

Please, don't go here! It’s awful! They have an elevator, if you may even call it that. I didn't even dare to use it! And the rooms...the towels looked like they were already used, you shower over the toilet. Iran out of that place as soon as possible! Don’t go here! There is a much better hotel only 1 minute from this place. It’s called hotel François. Please do go there!

This hotel is located next to Gare de l'Est, which is a ghetto black neighborhood. It's a scary area with drunken people being on a street until the morning. Not a single bus goes straight to attractions, it's so inconvenient. The rooms are filthy and uncomfortable. However, the staff is very helpful and pleasant. Overall, so not worth 50 euros a night.
