A Nice Surprise...
from ekitsonThe staff were so-so, mostly friendly, except for the nightstaff. The room service, however, was laughable. "Room Service" NEVER pick up the phone - ever. You have to call Reception, then they get annoyed at you for bothering them at the 'wrong desk', then you get transfered on the phone a million times. Once you do get through to someone, who never speaks good English (the rest of the staff is great in this department, it just seems to be room service...) it usually takes quite a while to get your order. We ordered sorbet one night and by the time it actually reached us, it was all but melted.
The only other bad experience we with the staff had was the very first day we checked in - after about 5 minutes of walking into our hotel room, we got a knock on the door from the hotel staff. As I wasn't dressed, we ignored it but they used a master key and let themselves into the room! They didn't even care or apologise that I was mid-changing and insisted on taking out the spare bed immediately. That annoyed me somewhat!
Still, we were out all day every day (we stayed one week) so you don't really notice the staff and we ate out every night. For a place to sleep and wake up every morning, it's great - it's in a quiet area, yet it's so connected to the city. You can walk 2 minutes away to a bridge by the original Statue of Liberty and watch the E. Tower light up at night.
I'd definately stay here again, we got a great summer deal (6 nights for the price of 4) and it's great for couples. Not so much for children, as there's not as much for them to do, but definately give this place a try if you're into seeing all of Paris.
Good airco!
from florisrookWould definitely stay here again.

from A TripAdvisor MemberBEWARE OF CHANGING HOTEL SCAM!
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe moved back to the Auteuil the night after and the electricity went out on us! They didn't even pay for the taxi that we had to pay to get to and from the new hotel they moved us to. So BEWARE of this scam!
Lovely little place
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe hotel itself had everything that we wanted. Staff were really nice and spoke good English. Bed weas comfy, the toilet flushed, air con worked like a dream. It is in a nice area, and feels particularly safe at night. In fact one night, I dropped my purse somewhere near by and some nice person returned it to the hotel.
At night the metro stops at around 12ish, and one night we went to the bastille area and were gutted that we woulnt be able to stay for long because we figured a taxi would be really expensive, but it turned out to be 10 euros! We were so impressed. So I def reccommend getting a taxi places. We went to Zebra square near by for a drink (10 euros for a beer). It was very cool.
In all, I would suggest you go there coz its really sweet and cheap and im sure u wont be dissapointed.
Quiet and nice but...
from A TripAdvisor MemberNice Hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat Staff, Great Location,
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe receptionist apologised again and offered refreshments to my daughter and myself. At 11.00 am they advised us that a room was now ready - way ahead of schedule! The room was a decent size, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and there was a hairdryer! No Kettle though. Nevermind we had the best Boulangerie a stones throw away and they made great coffee so for breakfast each morning my daughter would just walk up the road and buy a beautiful fresh baguette and coffee and bring it back to the room. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby and the Radio France rail station is just 5 minutes walk. Although, most days we walked to the Eiffel Tower, The Arc etc and caught the train back in the afternoon. The restaurant and bar were adequate, the meals were nothing fancy but well prepared and tasty. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately, we were there over Easter and most restaurants in the vacinity were closed so we did not get to sample some of the surrounding fare.
Top Local Tips for Paris
Visiting Eiffel Tower & Transport The Eiffel Tower is About a Mile Away or Less. It Took me 20-25 Walk, Up Ave de Versailles, Which leads onto President Kennedy Ave. Just follow along the Seine River to Bridge pont d'iena The Queues are Long, leave it til Evening, the lines are Shorter. Wait was About 30 min to buy ticket. It Take Approx, Another 1 hour to Reach Summit. Factor this time in if you want to see the Daylight view. I timed it so at Level One, It was Daylight, By the time I got to the Top it was Night. Cost Me 11.50 to Top -feb 2008 Cheaper if You Just want to Go Halfway If you Go At night, Learn How to Use Your Camera!! So Many ppl Had Super Duper Expensive Cameras & Couldn't take Photos Properly. I'd Hate for Anyone to Go all the way & Have No Memories. The Tower Sparkles On the Hour for 10 Min- Spectacular You'll WILL Get Hassled By Beggars & Souvenir Touts Constantly, However, the Little Glowing Souvenirs are Pretty Cheap, They Say 8 Euro, Pay 6. The Real Deal Crystal Versions Cost 50+ Euros at Gare Nord! Keep Valubles Safe from Pickpockets- It Can Get Crowded It can Take Another 45 min-1 hour to Get Back Down Tower.
Batobus Buy a day ticket for the Batobus on the Seine - 8 stops including all the major attractions and you can get on and off as many times as you like.
Try the Batobus ! Try using the Batobus boats to explore. they run in a loop from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame. You can get passes for €12 per day, €14 for 2 days or €17 for 3 and use them as much as you like.
