Great Hotel, Great Value

We stayed for two nights at the Lenox, and were more than satisfied with our stay. The small room was extremely clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and accomodating.
The location is a bit removed from the main attractions of Paris, but the hotel is probably about 100 steps to the Vavin Metro Stop, which is easily accessible to most of the city.

The Hotel Lenox Montparnasse is a lovely place to stay. For us, as Americans on our first trip to Paris (and with both of us having only limited proficiency in French), this hotel provided a perfect base for our explorations of France's capital. The multilingual staff is unfailingly friendly and courteous. The room was comfortable, and we slept well throughout our stay. The hotel is located close to a station of the Metro, and moreover is within easy walking distance of many Paris landmarks (e.g., Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Pantheon, the Museum of the Middle Ages). Great restaurants abound in the Montparnasse neighborhood, including many that were favorites of Hemingway, Sartre, and Beauvoir. We recommend the Hotel Lenox Montparnasse with the highest enthusiasm.

Spent a couple of nights at the Lenox Montparnasse in May 2006 and was thoroughly satisfied with this hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was the usual Paris small but it was clean and the bed was excellent. The bathroom was also very clean, modern and big enough. There was a tub and shower so both my wife and I were happy. I can't comment on the breakfast, however I do know that it was quite pricey at 15 Euros, which is over $20 cdn. We just went onto the Blvd Montparnasse nearby and got a coffee and croisant there for alot less. We found the Montparnasse area to be very clean and safe with lots of cafes and places to eat. The Metro (subway) was within a 5 minute or less walk and the metro is a fantastic way to get around paris. One thing about the metro though, it didn't seem to take credit cards, or at least non-european ones, so have lots of small change as not all of the ticket booths are staffed on a consistent basis. If your money keeps returning to you, it means that the machine is too full of coins and will not accept any more until it is emptied. Buy a multi day pass if you plan on using the metro to get around. It's a better value.
My wife and I enjoyed the hotel but had to admit that we could smell the smoke from the bar downstairs at night so ask for a room on the upper floors. We had a room facing the courtyard so there was very little noise which was nice.

Just got back from a great 3 night break at lenox montparnasse. Found everything in order. Size of room was fine as we only slept in it! Shower (wet room) was a novelty, soaked everything in the room apart from myself but hey, had fun :o) Perfectly situated for Vavin and Montparnasse bienvue metro stations which you could access most tourist destinations from.
Some lovely restaurants, creperies and shops (yeay) in walking distance. Breakfast was a feast, tuck in it's included!! Staff were great and spoke english, we in return tried our french(not so good).
Room was a little noisy as we had a street room but shut that window and BANG the noise dissappears, great soundproofing here!
A very lovely hotel in a very safe area, as first timers to Paris we were worried about where it was but it was perfect and i would love to return. If you are a cinema fan you will love it even more. Many, many cinemas just a walk away!

I stayed 3nights in the Lenox on the recomendations alone, and i wasn't disappointed.
Nicest staff you'll meet - they speak perfect English, but please try and speak French when visiting the country, make an effort its rewarding!

Stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Lenox. Location was great. If you take the Paris L'Open Bus tours, one of the routes is within walking distance of the hotel, and from there you can hop on any of the other routes for the tours to catch ALL the sites. Staff was super friendly and the breakfast delicous. The standard rooms are a little small by American standards, but a good size by Paris standards. Free wireless internet in-room was a BIG plus.

Based on other reviewers, I switched from another hotel in the 6th to the Lenox at the last minute. I found the room to be very nice, bed comfortable, bathroom very nice, flat screen TV a bonus, etc. I stayed in a "Club Room" which was very nice when staying by myself but might be a bit small for 2 (only a double size bed). The suites looked fabulous and I would recommend that if budget allows. I really appreciated the nice bar downstairs as well as the free WIFI and DSL internet access. The staff was fabulous.
The only negatives....the soap was horrible (bring your own). I know this is silly, but I did expect better. And, it was a little far away from the St. Germain area....which was easily remedied by two metro stations within a block of the hotel.
A couple of really nice restaurants in the area (especially Le Dome). A bakery, deli and pharmacy on the block.
If you don't mind staying just a bit out of the way, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect Paris Hotel

This is a perfect hotel for a stay in Paris - both in terms of location and the hotel itself.
The hotel is small (about 50 rooms I seem to recall) and very friendly. On our stay of three nights we met two different night porters and three different day staff - all exceptioanlly friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast than the big chain premium customer check-ins!
The rooms are small (we chose the one with large bathroom), but ALL hotel rooms in Paris are small. The double room had more than enough space for two to have cases, unpack, and do stuff in the room. So, for Paris this is great! But for those from other parts of the world, this is not Texas! The room was clean, somewhat basic on first impression, but actually quite well furnished. The bed was perfect and clean. Electonically controlled Air conditioning worked just fine. THe batroom was spotless (and createively designed, due to not being quite as large as I had imagined).
Fabulous breakfast served with friendly staff. Nice bar in the evening. I agree with one of th previous reviewers that it might not be best for families, although we saw two different families with young children who seemed to get on just fine.

There are bars and restaurants galore (some a little over-priced - look around first), and it is the main cinema area of Paris - some 30 screens within walking distance of the hotel. Really good hotel

My wife and I stayed in this hotel from16th until 19th April 06. We flew into Charles de Gaulle and got the bus to Montparnasse station. There is a bus every 30 minutes from the airport until 9pm at night. It cost 36 euro return for the both of us, which was good. We then walked to the hotel, which only took around 10 minutes.
The staff were excellent, very friendly and always there to help. Although we stayed on the 4th floor facing the street, there were no problems with noise. There are rooms at the back of the hotel which faced into a patio, but they are more expensive. I had heard on the trip advisor website that the rooms facing the street may be slightly noisy, but I phoned the hotel after booking it with expedia and they kindly moved us to the 4th floor. But thankfully the room was not noisy. I expected the room to be smaller after hearing about most Paris hotel rooms, but it was fine. The room had a double bed, although I rang them to make sure it had, I hate those twin beds. When I rang, the staff were only too happy to help me. The room had a flat panel TV with plenty of channels, but only one of them was in English, but I suppoose you don't go to Paris to watch TV. The en-suite was fine, although no bath, but the shower was perfect. There was no shower curtain, and the floor was always wet after a shower but this is only a minor problem. The room was air-conditioned which was an added bonus.
I had only one problem with the room, when the people in the room next to us had a shower/bath the noise of the running water was a bit loud. You don’t mind this during the day, but late at night it was annoying
Breakfast was really excellent, I stayed in Paris the following week on business in a more expensive hotel and the breakfast was no way near as good as here. The hotel is very close to 2 main metro lines.

Excellent little hotel

I travel regularly to Paris and stayed here as often as possible. The staff - especially day staff - are helpful and friendly. the hotel is right in the middle of the best part of the left bank, on a street with great restaurants, cool cafes and funky bars.
The standard rooms are not large and I find it a little pricy for the size of room. That's more than made up for by the fact it's in a great location and has charm. Would adivse for single travellers/couples rather than families.

Top Local Tips for Paris
Transport to and from the airport We used a shuttle service booked on the web. It collected us when we emerged from the arrivals area at the airport and delivered us to the hotel. They confirmed the pick up arrangements the day before depature from the hotel where they collected us 2.5 hours before check opened and delivered us to the departure area in good time. They do collect others during the same pick up and collection run but we found minimal delays waiting for other people.

The Metro Definitely use the Metro. It's cheap, quick and convenient to get just about anywhere as Paris is quite spralling.
