Loved It
from DKielyHotel is well located also within a 2 mins walk of a metro stop and less than 10 mins from the main shopping district (Printemps etc)
very good but be aware
from SwanseaBoy68Breakfast was disappointing - we weren't expecting a lot and that's what we got.If your idea of variety is the number of different jams then it's fine, but we thought 8.20euros was steep for cornflakes / mini pastries and bread rolls.
If (like us) you're "Easyjetting" from Liverpool to Charles-de-Gaulle,save yourself some grief by catching the Roissybus which stops right outside Terminal 3 - it costs around 8 euros one way and stops at the Opera, which is only 10 minutes walk away from the hotel.Operates every 12 minutes and is very quick and easy - was faster than the RER which involves a train change at Gare Du Nord.
At 89 euros for the double room and the central location this is a good choice - bear in mind that the most expensive room in the hotel is only 132 euros and it may be worth splashing out that little bit more !
Lived up to expectation
from A TripAdvisor MemberAfter consulting TripAdvisor.com, we found the hotel website and were a little bit worry about no A/C in Summer at first. However, the rooms look so great in the website that we couldn't help making our reservation. We were happy with our decision. Room #33 (Euro 89) was not as colourful as it looks like in the website (pictures always look better) but was spacious and quiet. Temp at night was cool and it's OK to use fan. Bathroom was spacious, clean and tidy (no smelly mould).
The lift was old and small but functioning well and we loved it. Atmosphere is the charm of this hotel. We still haven't watched the file 'Charade, The Truth about Charlie'.
My favourite hotel in Paris
from lynnPAlthough it's in a really touristy area, it is still very central, and just a few minutes walk from the department stores and the Opera.
I'll definitely be going back this Christmas - I love this hotel.
Hotel Langlois is a great value

from Travel57Stay here!
from A TripAdvisor MemberAn excellent hotel for a short break in Paris, with a good location close to the Opera and Gallerie Layfayette. The rooms are spacious with antique furniture and paintings. We had a top floor room with a rooftop view. Very nice! We could see the spires of Sacre-Coeur which was very romantic and atmospheric! The cafes nearby are very adequate for meals and much cheaper than those nearer the sights. The hotel staff were friendly but we found that only one spoke English well enough to help/ recommend restaurants etc. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.
A Great Hotel.
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe were very pleased that we did. The hotel was exactly as other customers had described it. The staff were friendly and courteous; the room was spacious and spotlessly clean; the breakfast was great; the hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere and it's just a short walk from the Trinité d'Estienne d'Orves métro stop.
We have since recommended the hotel to several of our friends, some of whom had rather grim stories to tell of other hotels!
In addition to the hotel itself, we found the reviews on this site to be really helpful. We won't be booking another hotel without consulting this site first!
location
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe Bees Knees.
from Risky AerGood matter of fact service with no obsequiousness or indifference and really athmospheric room (64,on top of the house with Sacre Coeur visible in the early morning sunshine above the surrounding rooftops).
If anybody is used to the US style chain hotels then the Hotel de Langlois is NOT for you, but if its individualism at an affordable rate then it should be near the top of any consideration list.
Downsides...... While breakfast is a good buffet spread, the FRESH fruit is in fact processed from a tin stuff.
If U can live with that then away you go....
I certainly would stay here again.
Top Local Tips for Paris
Good dine places Aux Lyonnais - celebrated chef Alain Ducasse's bistro, Evi Evance - Greek-French mmm... yummy!, Leon de Bruxelles - reasonable
Carte D'Orange and the Metro If you are in good health and staying at this hotel, you are better off walking where possible and buying the 10 Carnet Metro Tickets for €10 for use when tired. We didn't get full use of the Carte D'Orange on this trip. When walking, you also see more and get a better perspective on Paris. The main tourist sights are all within a couple of square miles. For example, each morning we set off on foot and walked to the Eiffel Tower or Louvre or Musee D'Orsay or the Marais, etc.. Admittedly, when tired in the evenings, we used the Metro to zip back to the Hotel!
Gallopin Paris is full of great restaurants. Gallopin is an old brasserie with fantastic decor and very friendly staff. This restaurant has to forks in Michelin Guide and also a Bib Gourmand. Their set menu with starte, main course, dessert and 1/2 bottle of wine at 33 Euros is unbeatable. Book in advance. The adress is 40 Rue Notre Dame des victoires.
