On entering the Hotel Lotti lobby, you might think your room will be posh, but you will be disappointed. We booked a deluxe room, and found stained and peeling wallpaper, recently repaired (and unpainted) ceiling repairs over the bidet and toilet (and therefore under the same plumbing above...yuck!), a dirty hole where one of the bathroom sconces used to be (leaving the space only partially lighted), a sofa that smelled of urine, and an overall odor of mold throughout the room. The wardrobe (old and very cool, in theory) smelled acrid. True, the room was spacious and the hotel well-located (albeit on a very noisy street). The heated towel racks and robes, slippers (you need these for the icky carpet!), and bath salts are a nice touch. But the room felt, frankly, grubby. Not graciously aged, but down-at-the-heels and down-market. As for Giselle's comment about unfriendly staff, everyone I dealt with was very nice.
