Historical Traveller Reviews of Hotel Eiffel Segur
Hotel Yikes!
from kotm- my room was not ready until 2 hours after official check in time
- the radiator in the room was not operational and left the room very cold
- the cable television did not operate
When highlighting these issues, the front desk staff just deferred to the employees on the next shift to solve the problems. In all instances, there was no resolution and I was not transferred to another room.
On a positive note, the room was cozy, yet clean. The beds were comfortable and WiFi in the hotel permitted internet access. Overall though, I would seek out other hotels in the area before landing on this one.
thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We are really sorry for the disturbances you encountered during your stay. For your information our rooms have been newly renovated and TV cable, heater, etc are working fine. We will be more than pleased to welcome you again.
Very Disappointed
from tennisNCarolinaThe rooms are also cold. the thermostats were pre-set and would not go above 17 degrees.
Disappointing
from SCFCanadaThe room/ Hotel in general The room was so small it was nearly comedic. If you are claustrophobic, you will have a hard time staying here. There is a tiny little elevator but only the cleaning staff seem
to use it, which leaves you to the stairs, which are small, narrow, and winding. Our room was very small, there was hardly any room to walk around the sides of the bed. I think this is Europe-wide, but there was no clock in the room. There is definitely some confusion about the “included breakfast” since some literature said it was included yet my husband got a coffee and they charged him TEN EUROS! You’re much better off walking down the street toward the train station and getting something from the bakery on the corner. There are a lot of cafés nearby (walk toward the Cambronne metro station). There is also a Monoprix, which is like a department store, within walking distance. And a McDonalds for those who are so inclined... There was no fridge or microwave in the room and the view was terrible
(non-existent) of the side of another building (although we do not really care about views since we are not there to hang out in the room!) You can hear other rooms-- toilets flushing, people talking etc...
The bed was comfortable enough and the pillows were ok, nothing great.
The floor was very dusty and badly needed to be vacuumed or swept and it didn’t seem to be done at all while we were there.
Bathroom Facilities
The real downside to this room was the bathroom. The bathroom was very small. The toilet seemed a little unstable when you sat down on it. The shower was tiny (you couldn’t bend down to pick something up off the floor, you had to squat) and was missing floor tiles, the curtain wasn’t wide enough to cover the whole entry (resulting in a wet floor) and the bracket holding the shower head up was broken so you kept having to adjust it back to spraying properly. I dreaded taking a shower. At least the water was warm.
Service
The service was good when they came to get luggage from the room. The front desk was satisfactory with providing directions. My husband called the desk to request an iron. They literally brought an iron and no ironing board, so I don’t know what was going on there...
Value/ Price
Once we looked up other hotels we realized this one was overpriced for what it is and most of those appeared to really include free breakfast!
Getting there
You can get to this hotel from the airport without getting a taxi (which would cost you about 60 Euro). Paris’ excellent metro system allows you to take transit right from the airport. Take the RER B in the direction of Robinson. Get off at Denfert Rochereau and take line 6 (light green on the metro maps) to Charles de Gaulle Etoile. Get off
at Cambronne. The hotel is just up the street (walk back down parallel to the metro line). I only had one medium pullman suitcase so it was no problem
Thank you for sharing your opinion. Please note that a lot of renovations have been done in the rooms and bathrooms since last year. It is now newly decorated & furnished and measures have been taken regarding the cleaning.
We propose a breakfast buffet for 12 euros. In your case there might have been a misunderstanding between a coffee and a full breakfast as our guests usually have the full buffet. We are surprised to read you found in some litterature that breakfast is included. Could you please let us know in which one you read this? Best regards.
Central, Clean, Well Furnished, Great Staff... a little loud
from mickeycirelandThe staff were excellent and very helpful. Special thanks to the night porter who printed my boarding pass at 2am, cheers.
The only negative i have is the sound proofing within the building. I was woken at 7am and could not return to sleep with the sound of shutting doors, chatting or coughing seeping in easily through the walls. I believe this may be a problem in many parisian hotels due to the old buildings.
On the whole i found the place a decent hotel if a little overpriced.
Thank you very much for your comments on TripAdvisor. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and sorry for the disturbances about the noise that night. Your remark help us to continually improve our services. Best regards.
Not what I expected
from beth507Note - the bathrooms were newly redone and very clean. The rooms were very small but that is common everywhere in Paris. The hotel staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. However, overall we would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.
Thank you for writing your review, which is very important to us.
We apologies for the annyance regarding to the doors slamming, we have now proceeded to a complete check of all the doors and the airconditionning system as well. Regarding to the situation near the metro stop, we do have sound proof windows in all the rooms, and as well we have rooms overlooking our inside garden. Regarding to the extra charge for breakfast, we do apologize , this must be a mistake. As to the channels on the televisions we have re programmed all the televisions. Our employes have been working with us for a long time, and I thnik that it might be a misunderstading because, nobody can enter the rooms without going through the reception desk, as well the electronic key system allows us to check each person entered to any room. Again we thank you for your review and do not hesistate to contact us should you stay in Paris again or for any further information.
Best Regards Charlotte JENSEN
Great reception

Not bad....does the job
from hawaiiboundTorontoThank you for your positive review. Hoping to see you for your next trip to Paris. Best regards.
First experience of Paris
from babsglynnMy stay at Eiffel Segur was disappointing in some aspects.
Our first room which was off the courtyard was not suitable in my opinion as a bedroom for 2 people. The extremely tiny size made it almost impossible to move around. Although very clean and presentable the air was very stale as the room had no window or ventilation whatsoever, the only way to get clean air was to keep front door open. Staff responded well to our complaint and offered us another much more suitable room for our 2nd and 3rd night stay.
Also felt it unusual to offer breakfast of basic bread juice and hot drink with additional charge for any extras...Feel it would be much better to have charged the one rate at outset for bed/breakfast...As a member of Great western chain I expected a much better breakfast choice and venue as room very shabby and tucked away in basement.
Thank you for your review. We propose a full breakfast buffet for 12 euros with:
yogourts, cheese, fresh pressed orange juice, pastries, bread, butter, soft or hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, cereals, coffee, tea, chocolate, etc...
Best regards.
Average place
from elloneThank you for your review. We are very attentive to our guests' remarks. Renovations have been done and we have no more problems with the doors since our magnetic key system has been completely changed. We hope to see you again.
Very Good Value!
from retiredandtravelingOur lift stops only on mid floors, for exemple to go to 3rd floor you go to the 4th and walk down to the 3rd. Again thank you and we would enjoy welcoming you again near the Eiffel Tower!
Top Local Tips for Paris
The Best Food anywhere No need to pay huge amounts for a great meal. The neighborhood bistros and restaurants were wonderful, for about $35.00 for 3 course meal. Make reservations! Try a few words in French and almost every Frenchman will help you in either their English or sign language - no problem!!
Relocate breakfast room The breakfast room in basement very unappealing...Two of the bedrooms off courtyard would be better knocked into one and converted into breakfast room with tables and chairs in the courtyard when weather permitting...In particular room 5 off courtyard was far too small to be used as a double bedroom...Like being in a stuffy dark cupboard with no window or natural light.
From the Airport I used a shared shuttle service from the Airport - CDG - and it was fine. They picked up a few of us and then when into the city. It was good to see the city while driving around as opposed to taking the train. The cost was 25 euros which I booked online before I left. On the way back to the airport I used the metro and the suburban train - which is fine if you don't mind connecting and carrying your bag thru a few turnstyles and up and down some stairs. It took about an hour from my hotel near the Eiffel Tower and the cost was only about 8 euros.....so it was pretty cost effective. The hotel wanted 55 - set price - from the hotel to the airport - not a chance I was doing that!!!! I figured I had used the metro quite effectively and wasn't concerned at all about getting there. TIP - keep your metro map handy at all times so you know which direction you are going - it's easy to get around - don't let the 14 different lines scare you!!!!!
