Very cheap with great position
We stayed there for one week in 2006. I can recommend this hotel for everyone, who are looking for cheap acomodation and cheap travelling. We saved a lot of money for transport, because lots of monuments are accesible by foot in only few minutes. Rooms are tiny, but chummy.
From another point of view cleaness in hotel is fairly scanty. Part of Hotel staff doesn't speak English, another one speaks with terrible French accent.
Globally, this hotel is really good choice for its prices, but if you want to enjoy luxury, go elsewhere.

Very dirty
We planed to stay in the hotel for a week, but checked out after one night. The hotel is very dirty, and the staff are very unpolite. And was very upset over our complaint of the cleanness of the room. The security are also very bad, there are no fire escape. We would never go there again, and would not recommend it to others.

Best deal for centre of Paris
I stayed at the Hotel de Rouen in 1993 - perhaps a few years back, but if the hotel hasn't changed then I have nothing but good things to say about the place. I suggest you ask for a room with a private shower/toilet and a window facing the street. My travelling companion and I had booked the room from home before leaving for Paris and when we got there, we had our own bathroom in a tidy room, but the window faced the side of another building and looked out onto a platform of pigeon shit and cigarette butts. When we asked to be moved to a room with a street-facing window the owner was more than happy to oblige. What a difference! The bed in the new room was decent, the bathroom spotless, the wood wardrobe perfect for storing our luggage, and the beautiful big window looked out onto one of the more interesting streets of the city. We were there for almost 2 weeks and although the climb up the stairs of the hotel was a bit tedious after long days of trekking around the city, the room was...Read more
