This is a way over priced for the service. The rooms are very small and dirty. The drapes were falling off the windows. The bedspreads and sheets were questionable. Carpet very dirty and worn. Staff was not friendly.
A lovely, warm place

A lovely, warm place, with handicapped accessible rooms. The hosts are very nice people. English is spoken throughout. 3 blocks from main bus line along the Seine.

I do not recommend this hotel. It was terribly overpriced, while the rooms were extremebly dirty. The shower was covered in mould, the sheets and towels were dirty and the service was horrible. On the bright side, it was located near the Tower and some good shops.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Don't miss Musée de l’Orangerie Monet's Water Lilies impressed me more than any other paintings I saw during three weeks in Europe.

Buying a Metro Ticket We got Euros from an ATM after arriving at Gare Nord and went to buy Metro tickets from the dispensing machine. Very easy to use and had English help screens. But. we found out that not all machines are created equal and only some will accept bills. Coins or credit cards only! Even French ATMs don't issue coins. No problem, the lady behind the ticket window was friendly and helpfull. But if you can't make a machine accept your money, it's not your fault.

Extra Umbrella's We had wonderful weather for January while we were in Paris, daily temp averaged 40 to 50 degrees, but the wind on some days was gale force winds. Heavy sweaters/coats are not necessary-I was expecting snow and bitter cold,( I live in Denver). A all purpose coat, scarf and gloves are necessary. We went through 2 umbrellas as the wind beat them up. No crowds, this was the best part.
