Just Perfect!

A small 3-star in St. Germain steps from the Buci Marketplace and Blvd St. Germain. Good service. Clean rooms. Quiet. Comfortable. Nicely decorated. Great location. What else could you ask for?

Close walk to the Cluny, Notre Dame, Louvre. Nice restaurants (Lipp, Le Procope, Cafe des Flores) nearby.

When I mistakenly left a small package, they graciously mailed it back to me in the states.

I would DEFINTELY recommend it and stay there again.

I stayed for five nights in August 2004 with my two daughters (age 15 and 11) in Room 34, which was located at the front of the hotel. Our room was noisy in the evenings and early in the morning. There’s construction being done on the building next door. Loved the location. The hotel is a two-minute walk from the Odeon Metro station and is also within walking distance to many shops, cafes, and major Paris sites. Our room was clean and nicely appointed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location

We stayed at the Hotel de Fleurie for four nights in February, 2004, while we were visiting our daughter who was studying in Paris. The hotel's location was great - convenient to the Metro, near lots of restaurants and shopping, and within walking distance of Notre Dame, the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay (If you like to walk!) Our room was small, as is to be expected in Paris, but the bathroom was surprisingly large. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was quiet - it is on a side street off of the busy Boulevard St. Germain. I would highly recommend the Hotel de Fleurie!

Well-kept secret

My family and I have stayed here a couple of times and I've recommended it to friends as well. This is a great little hotel in an IDEAL location in St Germain. It's a quiet street, which is not true of much of the 6th arr. Beautiful rooms and helpful staff.

Believe it when you see all the 5 star ratings for this hotel - your eyes do not deceive!

I recently stayed at the Hotel de Fleurie and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect and the price was extremely reasonable for such a great hotel! I highly recommend it!

A wonderful place

I recently stayed at the Hotel de Fleurie for 5 nights. It was terrific - the staff were always friendly and helpful, my room (which was one of the two at the top of the stairs) was charming and always well-kept, and the location was perfect - within walking distance of so many interesting areas and sites. The Odeon metro stop is only a minute or so walk away, as is the Gerard Mulot patisserie, which is wonderful. I look forward to a return visit!

position, staff, rooms all great

My daughter and I stayed here for 8 days and found the staff friendly and helpful, the position perfect for transport but we could walk most places as it was so central. Our rooms were clean, nicely furnished and of a high standard compared to a lot in Paris. There are some rooms that are a bit dark as they face the side of another building. I would definitely stay there again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Our family of four (2 teenage girls) thoroughly enjoyed our eight days at the Fleurie in late March - early April, 2004. The family suite was all that we had hoped for. It was wonderful to have our own suite with the ability to close each "bedroom" door at night for sleeping. It was immaculate and my husband was relieved to find a "western" tub/shower with full shower curtain! The room with the king bed faced the street, which could be noisy at night, but that didn't bother us one bit since our French is not good enough to understand normal French conversational talk. Thus, it just became background noise and we slept with the windows open each evening. The staff could not have been friendlier, conversing with us in French or English (whichever we felt like at the time), giving our girls the opportunity to try out their French. The neighborhood is perfect for families. Just enough hustle and bustle to be exciting but not intrusive. We felt very safe at all hours. We walked to most of the attractions we visited (after a morning stop at the Gerald Mulot bakery). We all particularly enjoyed the marketplace at nearby Rue de Buci. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Review based on a 5 night stay in early April '04:

Last fall, I spent days combing through reviews of hotels in Paris. Thankfully, TripAdvisor steered me well. I read the reviews of Hotel de Fleurie, crossed my fingers, and made the reservation.

The hotel was just as the reviews described (at least the positive reviews). It's charming, immaculate, the staff was great, and my room was more spacious than expected.

But it's the location of the hotel that was most appealing It's less than a minute walk to Odeon Metro and the choices of great cafes and restaurants in the area are impressive. And while not as lively as the Latin Quarter at night, St. Germain has plenty of electricity in the air - especially on the weekends.

We just returned from 6 days at the Fleurie in Paris with friends of ours - we also stayed on the 6th floor. At first, we were worried about climbing the last flight (the elevator stops at the 5th floor) but they knew we were with friends and gave us the most wonderful spot! (There are only two rooms on the six floor - directly across from each other). We had a lovely queen size bed and the room was charming (small by American standards, although we stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Jamaica at Christmas and I can honestly say it wasn't much bigger!) All the rooms are small in Paris. Who spends anytime in the room anyway! You absolutely can't beat the location. The staff was lovely. The price was great. An overall terrific time in Paris.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Skip the big cafes Deaux Maggot etc. Unless it is your first time. Over-priced, rude and so-so food. many more great options a block or two off the main drag.

Taxis Every taxi we took was amazingly clean, new, and with a driver who was courteous & professional. For perhaps one or two euro's more than the Metro (for 3 people), treat yourself to a taxi and enjoy the views along the way instead of being in the hot, underground, dirty subway system (although efficient).

Rail and Metro to hotel We found using the RER and Metro public transportation to be perfectly adequate and very reasonably priced. We took the RER train from Charles Degaul airport (CDG) to the St. Michel Metro station. We then transferred to the Metro (subway) and the hotel was only one stop away (Odeon). This mode of transport would be unsuitable if you are travelling with anything more than a medium sized suitcase and carry-on. Cost was about 11 euros and change, each, one way, for the RER ticket which also allows you to use the Metro subway. The train or metro can be crowded, depending on the time of day.
