Our son is staying at the Irish College, Rue des Irlandais and we visited him in February. It's worth visiting the Irish College, beautiful building steeped in history. He located Hotel du Bresil for us, inspected a room and got a good price. We were very satisfied. The stairs is a bit of a challenge, I think there's 109 spiral steps. There is a very tiny lift for those unable for the stairs. We had a twin room at the top of the hotel with a good bathroom, great shower. Breakfast was the usual and fine. Close to metro stop.Reading the comments posted for this hotel I'm surprised that few people know Sigmund Freud lived at the Hotel du Bresil for a time, you can feel him around the place!

The hotel was recommended to us by U.K. friends, thank goodness. How else would we have found a reasonbly priced hotel in Paris, walking distance to Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, and more.
The attic rooms are cheaper and suited us as no frills, take it as it comes travellers perfectly. The staff were very helpful and we felt at home. We don't want anyone else to know about this hotel either, so when next in Paris there is a room for us.

I am shocked! shocked! that this fine hotel has not been rated. Must be that users want to keep it a secret. So I should not tell you that it gives fine service, in a perfect location, without a lot of unnecessary frills catering to an inexperienced clientele.
