Very plesant stay, a most unusual hotel bang in the middle of Paris. Very clean and tidy, Supurb accom for a Paris break. 14 of us stayed and we all enjoyed the expereince.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Adequate walking shoes Heavily cushioned soles will help your feet when walking the cobblestones and cement floors of museums.

Eating cheap in Paris Picnics!!! You can get awesome bagettes, cheeses, veggies and wine dirt cheap at bakeries and markets all over Paris. They make a filling and gourmet lunch or dinner for two anytime/anywhere. Buy a corkscrew at the local Monoprix or other department store. Crepe stands (cheap) have awesome savory crepes that make a great lunch or light dinner too. Save your euros for one or two nice restaurant dinners and not feel you've overspent. Make sure you go to a recommended place and stay away from the tourist trap restaurants (bad food for big money).

Watch out for the "gold ring" scam along the roads fronting the Seine. We were twice approached by would-be thief/scam artists with a story of a "found gold ring". It is a way for these people to get close to you and either steal one of your possessions or try to "force you" to give them a reward for "finding" this ring. This is a well-documented scam and we were prepared. This happened to us twice while walking along the road next to the Seine, from Louvre to Pont Neuf (late October 2007). If you are approached by these people, yell very loudly for them to go away or leave you alone and KEEP WALKING!
