We chose this hotel because of its convenient location, near enough to the Opera Garnier to explore that district and to have easy access to the RoisseyBus for our departure at the end of this trip. Although the reality of the hotel was unlike the Internet pictures, our room would have been fairly spacious had they not squeezed in a twin bed beside our requested double. The shabbiness of the decor was bearable, but not the sewer-gas smells emitting from the toilet each night, which were sufficiently obnoxious to disturb our sleep. The breakfast (I believe it was no-option) was barely passable, with stale breads and coffee that misrepresented the city's famed wake-up beverage. News of the recent fatality-ridden hotel fire in the district brought back memories of the dim and narrow halls and stairways, making our laborious climbs to our 4em étage room seem more nuisance than the danger they would present in a similar situation. We would definitely not stay at this property again and would advise our friends to avoid it as well. Sorry to have to be so blunt, but this was our least-favorite lodging in two separate trips to France.
