Great staff; terrific coffee!
The location was as central and handy as everyone says in their reviews. The price was a bit steep for a 2 star, I believe. The rooms were rather dingy, however I noticed that there has been some attempt at sprucing up the decor. We were glad to get out and about from about 8am to 8pm each day, with a nap in between when we could. From our perspective, it was well worth saving our money for transport and food costs. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke understandable English, except for the breakfast and cleaning staff. I did not encounter any rudeness- something one traveller reported. We were there for 4 nights. The free internet use was handy- it's only to quickly check your emails and respond within about 10 minutes. The breakfast was typical- we really enjoyed the coffee! The things that might bother you at this hotel is the smoking (typical everywhere in Europe!) and the noises outside if you need to have the windows open at night in summer. NIce hotel, good location
Nice clean hotel, close to public transport. None of the staff could speak english so that was a bit of a drawback as we could not ask them for help or directions. Also the rooms and bathrooms are tiny.

A Wonderful Hotel
This facility had all of the amenitites....breakfast available, elevator,bakery around the block, internet cafe half block away,and a nice cultural climate with a superb staff.
The hotel was clean, neat and well placed in Republic. It had a Metro station very close by, and marvelous restaurants. We stayed for over two weeks there in July of 2005, and enjoyed ourself tremendously. The price was great, the service was excellent, the hotel was perfect to our needs.

Jewel in the crown
This hotel is a veritable jewel in the crown and the lady owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room we had was clean and comfortable and perfectly adequate for our needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris and would certainly stay there on future visits. The hotel is located 100m from the métro at Place de la République and is within easy reach of the city centre and all the attractions. Definintely worth a visit!
