We booked four months in advance and recieved a 'confirmed reservation'. The day before arriving they phoned to cancel: wedding anniversary trip ruined. They also said they could not find us anything else.
Beware - book the Little Palance Paris if you want to sleep in the park.

Pleasant and convenient at a reasonable price

We chose the Little Palace because it is centrally located, convenient to the Metro and reasonably priced. Beyond that, we found we had a clean and comfortably furnished room with a lovely view across the adjacent park. We also found the staff to be helpful and efficient. We were pleased with our choice and would stay there again.

The hotel was at best functional. The room was a little on the small side. The facilities i.e. bar, lounge and restaurant did not provide a space for a relaxing evening or to chat with friends.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Paris Walks and Fat Tire Tours Paris-walks.com offers a wide variety of two hour English language tours twice a day with American or Brit guides (Franophiles!). They are a fun way to gain some insights into the many interesting neighborhoods of Paris. Tours are a steal of 10 euro p.p. and no reservations are needed. Fat Tire does bike tours as well as Segway tours. We did the Segway tour and it was a blast. There is a short training session (they are pretty easy to master even if you're a klutz like me) followed by a tour of major monuments with narration, lunch in Jardin des Tuilleries and lots of fun zipping about in the Segways. A very memorable way to see the sights!

Trendy Dinner location & Segway paris tour! You must visit the "Buddha Bar" - it is quite stunning and the Asian food was wonderful. The atmosphere was chic and romantic - we loved it!! If you can spend the money on a "Segway" tour of the city, (I found them on the internet!) its so much fun - spend 4 hours zipping around on the two wheeled trolley with your guide. It saves your legs hurting and is a good way of seeing some of the historic sights.
