My wife, daughter, son and I stayed here from 2/17 through 2/25 and could not have been happier. The rooms were delightful (a little peeling paint even added to the charm); the location is fabulous and the staff could not have been more interested in helping us have a fantastic vacation. We recommend it highly.

As first time visitors to Paris, my wife and I were highly pleased with the location, multi-lingual staff and the affordability of the Elysees Union Hotel.
The double room was large, attractively furnished, clean, and quiet. There was a neighborhood grocery right next door, a great Italian restaurant 2 doors south, an excellent Chinese restaurant within a block south of the hotel, and numerous good cafes on Rue Kleber, 2 blocks West. The Metro stop was very handy, and the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Champs Elysees were all within easy walking distance. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. We will again stay at the Elysees Union on our next trip to Paris!
The double room was large, attractively furnished, clean, and quiet. There was a neighborhood grocery right next door, a great Italian restaurant 2 doors south, an excellent Chinese restaurant within a block south of the hotel, and numerous good cafes on Rue Kleber, 2 blocks West. Almost afraid to give away this little secret

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The location was perfect, the staff friendly, and the room was a great deal for the price. When we return to Paris, we'll be staying here. We have the most beautiful pictures of the Eiffel tower from our window. We found our room to be a good size, especially for Europe. A great boutique hotel for a well-seasoned traveler. First timers might be disappointed if they expect more in this moderate price range. I am very surprised that trip advisor only has it rated as a 2 star!! Lovely hotel!
Great Hotel

Loved the hotel. The staff was great - willing to help out in every way. The hotel was within about a 10 minute walk to the metro, which was great. The room was not large, but very clean and well maintained. I would go back here in a hearbeat. Loved the Elysees Union, and loved Paris.

My wife and I stayed for three days at the Elysees Union for our first time in Paris. Knowing that the rooms would be small we still got a shock to see how small!! We asked if we could upgrate to a bigger room and the staff were very willing and helpful in this area - it helps I suppose that we stayed during winter when the occupancy level was low.
The room itself was clean and well equipped but the hotel needed some degree of maintenance. The location was great being within easy walking distance of the Eiffel tower, the underground and buses. The staff at the front desk were very helpful in all areas and were friendly and welcoming especially when we arrived in late at night.
The Elysees is down a side street so it is very quiet at all times.
Breakfast was adequate but sufficient for an average eater although my wife's coffee was cold most mornings. The staff though were more than willing to provide another cup.
All in all it one could say it was 'satisfactory' accommodation but we are sure there must be other superior places of similar value.

My husband and i have just returned from along weekend in Paris,we stayed at the HOTEL ELYSEES UNION which we found to be a lovely, friendly,very clean with a lovely view of the eiffel tower from the window.I booked it through travelocity and ahd no problems at all.We would highly recommend this hotel.
A Great Place to Stay

We stayed at the Hotel Union Elysees on our trip to Paris last year, and found it to be wonderful. As our package allowed flexibility with the hotel stay, we were able to stay at several hotels during our trip. This hotel was the better of the two that we considered "moderately priced."
Our room was very comfortable, clean, and a bit less cramped than the other room we stayed in while in Paris. (The Hotel de la Bourdannais, which was also nice.) We didn't spend the money for a view of the city, but instead overlooked the courtyard. This allowed us to leave the window open for a nice breeze overnight without so much traffic noise in the morning.
The bathroom was small, but laid out efficiently. The room did get satellite television, but only a couple of channels were in English. Not that we spent much time watching television, but we did watch the BBC news to catch up on world events in the morning while getting dressed.
As noted in other reviews, this hotel is just a couple of blocks away from a Metro station in one direction, and a couple of blocks away from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees in the other. Though the Eiffel Tower looms a short distance away, it is probably a 20-30 minute walk.

Great little hotel

I stayed here for 5 nights during Thanksgiving. This was my 2nd trip to Paris so I knew what to expect regarding accommodations. And still this hotel and my double room (515) managed to exceed all expectations. I booked it as an air/hotel package deal through Travelocity so I don't know the exact cost of the room. I am a budget traveler but I also seek out value over strictly bottom-dollar places. A place to sleep and a few basic luxuries is all I require.
The room itself was big by European standards and clean. In addition to the double bed (2 twins pushed together), it also had a small desk and an little sitting area. At check-in, I was assigned to another room but since it was the offseason, my request to have a balcony room with a view of the Eiffel Tower was granted. Absolutely stunning! And actually, a great thing to note was that the room was ready upon my arrival. I checked-in at 12:30pm. Nothing is worse than sitting on a flight for 9hrs, arriving to the hotel early, and then finding out check-in time is 2 or 3pm (believe me, I've seen this happen to friends).
I didn't try the continental breakfast at the hotel. It's cheaper and quicker to grab something to go at a pâtisserie or boulangerie. Plus, French pastries are to die for. The hotel staff was very pleasant.
As far as the area and location, it was excellent. It's very easy to get to from the airport. The closest metro stop is about 2 blocks south and there are 3 others within a 10min walking distance. It's safe to walk in at night and it is not noisy at all. There's several restaurants and brasseries nearby, though it was somewhat difficult to figure out what time they closed. Very nice hotel

We just came back from a four day stay at this hotel. We had a two room suite with a kitchen and washer and dryer which was perfect for our group of three adults and two children.
The location was very convenient with a metro stop 2 blocks away and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and Arch De Triumph. Boulangeries, sandwich shops, a small grocer next door, and some small bistros are all right near the hotel--but beware that their hours can be erratic. Some close early, some are not open on weekends.
The people at the front desk were helpful as well. The hotel was a small european style hotel. There was a continental breakfast offered in the hotel lobby, but we never tried it.
Being able to see the Eiffel tower right outside the front door of the hotel was amazing.
Also, on Saturday morning a fabulous outdoor market is less than a ten minute walk away and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Pleasantly Suprised

After becoming overwhelmed with the thousands of hotels in Paris to choose from we came across this hotel. Upon arrival, I was delighted by the friendliness of the staff. We were traveling with our five month old son and the staff tried to accomodate us as much as possible. We stayed in a triple room. The room was big, clean and comforatable. The bathroom looked as if it was newly remodeled as well. We had a view of the garden which was not as exciting as our friends view of the Eiffel Tower. The location was perfect for our needs. We were just a few blocks from both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomph and had a nice view of both from the hotel. Walking back to the hotel at 11pm at night with a baby felt quite safe as well. We drove to the hotel and that was a little chaotic. If you choose to drive, I would suggest that you map out the route before hand and be prepared to look carefully for the parking garage.

For the amount of money we paid, we got a very nice, large room and great service. The location was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant and delightful stay. I highly recommend this hotel!

I just returned from spending 3 nights at this hotel. I have to say that this was by far the nicest 3 star hotel I've ever stayed in, but also the most expensive. I booked my stay there through a website about three weeks in advance and received quite a favourable rate. In terms of location, its fantastic, close to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysee, with a view of the Eiffel tower as you enter and leave the hotel. Its worth noting though that I requested a spacious room when I made the reservation and received a room with a small lounge area and sleeper couch. The bathroom was also larger with a separate toilet.
I did manage to see the standard double room and understood why some found it a little cramped, so it would definitely be worthwhile to request a larger room when making a reservation.

Top Local Tips for Paris
Use the AirFrance bus Use the AirFrance bus to and from the airport to Hotel. Cab rides really expensive direct from airport. Air france bus picks up near "Arc de triumphe". Public transportation is cheap and easy to figure out.
An hour to spare Go to the catacombes, underground Denfert Rochereau. This is an unusual place to spend an hour, it being the place where the remains of around 6 million parisians are to be found. An disused limestone quarry under the streets of Paris was turned into an ossuary in the 1780s' when the cemetaries of Paris started to get too full and were causing ilness and disease amongst people living near them. You need to be fairly fit as there are a lot of steps down and up and don't go in if you are claustraphobic but this is a really unusual and interesting place to go.
metro It is easy to navigate and easy to get to airport, but if you take it ealry in the morning beware of rush hour. I don't reccomend it if you have heavy luggage because of all the stairs. Get tickets in packs of ten Carte orange and keep your ticket. On some stations you need it to get out.
