Top Local Tips for Paris
my favourite city Use the RER train into Paris from CDG, you need coins (8:50 euros per person) for the ticket machine, and that ticket can be used on the metro as well, Buy a carnet of 10 tickets from a ticket booth at the Metro stations, and oh, remember which terminal you fly out of on your return journey,
Are you a non-smoker? Be frightened ... very frightened!! I'm from Sydney, where only 20% of the population smokes and smoking in virtually all indoor areas is totally banned (and the bans are respected). I am a non-smoker and find cigerette smoke and the smell of cigarette smoke to be offensive. The only places in Paris I could away from the noxious odours was in the Louvre galleries and inside Metro carriages. Otherwise it was like living in a smokers' room, even in my "non-smoking" hotel room! It ruined my experience in Paris and I won't go back for pleasure until the situation changes, which will probably be never. If you dislike cigarette smoke like I do, then I would describe Paris as a no-go zone and cross it off you're list.
