| Wonderful Location |
| THE AREA. This hotel is, maybe, 100 feet from Boulevard St. Germain and literally surrounded by restaurants, Patisseries, a Champion Market, Cafes, Bistros, ATM machines, and the Odeon Metro station. You could not be more centrally located on the Left Bank for a pleasant stay. The Seine, Notre Dame and Louvre are also not more than an easy 15 minute walk away.
It's a very busy but pleasantly so, neighborhood.
THE HOTEL. The building is quite old and charming,in an antique way, and the elevator is very tiny.
The rooms are small but clean and the predominately red decor may not be to everyones taste. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are large and well equiped. Each room includes a safe, telephone, color tv with CNN as the only enlish language channel, and what we considered less than adequate closet space. The lighting is not good for reading in bed and if someone is staying in the room with you I would recommend you bring a book light.
The front of the hotel is over a very busy street, so if noise bothers you i'd suggest a room facing the courtyard in the center of the building.
The lobby is small but comfortable and has a commercial type pay per use internet podium. There is a breakfast room that serves, included in the room rate, continental breakfast composed of Croissant, Brioche, Pain au chocolat, fruits, cereals, madeleines, juices and coffee. The breakfast is decent and will send you on your way with something in your stomach. Basically, it's a plus.
The desk staff ranges from downright chilly(i'd rather not name names) to extremely welcoming (Audrie)and the desk is staffed 24 hours a day.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone who'd like to be in the very heart of this beautiful Left Bank neighborhood.
