My husband and I recently visited Paris and chose the Best Western Etoile Residence Imperiale Hotel based on the advice of a colleague. The staff was helpful and friendly. We only spoke minimal French but that was not a problem. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel becasue we chose to have Croissants and coffee at a local "Boulanger" bakery) every morning. The breakfast is 10 Euros per person per day extra. The beds were comforatble however small. The rooms were clean. This is not a luxury hotel but reasonable and close to the metro. We would choose it again.

Top Local Tips for Paris
Museum Pass If you plan on going to major museums, by a museum pass. It can be obtained at right at the CDG airport near the bagage claim. the offer it for 2, 4 or 6 consecutive days for a reasonable price. Although I don't think you save a lot, the thing about it is you can walk right by all the people who are lining up around the block. Oooh, that was easy. And you can go back again and again.
chartiers must visit! very busy so get there early. beautiful simple food and very cheap. 7 rue du faubourg-montmarte
