If you would like to stay very close to Champs Elysee with reasonable price you should choose Hotel Belmont. I have now stayed there during my business trips and also with my family and it is suitable for both types of travels.

The hotel is well located for those who want to shop, and want choices of eating estalishments. For the price of the room, you get very good service. The hotel staff are very helpful and the train system is located close by.

This hotel was dirty, the walls were dirty, the toilets were filthy and the bed was not clean. I actually think that something was biting me in the sheets. In the morning we had asked the concierge to book us a cab so that we could catch a 7am train and they forgot. We just barely managed to arrive at the station on time. Please please, if you want to enjoy your stay in Paris opt for another hotel with consistently good reviews.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Parisian are nice! Just try to say something in French. They will chime in immediately in English when they see you struggling w/o attitude.

Open top bus- Great Value The open top bus is an amazing way to see the city, especially if you are only there for a short time. The ticket is 24 euros and lasts for two days. You can hop on and hop off at all the attractions, and the buses pass about every 15 mins.

Eiffel Tower Walk up the stairs the first two levels. There are 700 steps total to the second level. If you are in any kind of good health, make the walk. You save a fortune, though you still have to buy tickets to the top level. Also, it lets you avoid the queue. The wait for the lifts when we went was just shy of three hours. We walked right up with no wait whatsoever. I even did it with a baby slung to my chest!
