Top Local Tips for Paris
General tips 1) When arriving in Paris for a 3 or more day stay, be sure to inquire at a metro station about a multi-day pass for Metro and bus transportation. A 3-day and a 5-day pass is available for a reasonable amount when considering the purchase for individual transportation. Unfortunately most Metro ticket agents do not or will not speak English, so it is best to enlist the help of some good soul prior to making your way to the purchase line. I found someone in line just behind me that was willing to tell the agent exactly what I needed. A separate ticket to Versailles can be purchased, rather than incorporating that trip in the multi-day pass. Additionally, visit a tourist office and purchase a musuem pass that gives entrance (through faster lines in most cases) to holders of this pass. Make sure all valuables and passports are conatined in a moneybelt, or in some body location that is very difficult for pickpockets to access. Pickpockets come in all shapes, sexes, and socio-economic groups.
French are the most rude and unfriendly people Avoid contact as far as possible with the locals for seeking information or guidance. You will be treated like dirt.
No Room at the Inn Make sure you book before you go or you may get screwed like we seemed to have been.

Don't plan on more then one night. The rooms are small and dirty..I was totally grossed out by the condition of the unit. The night manager tried to charge me for car parking and I didn't have a car!! Get your bill early when you check out so that you have time to confirm the actual charges.. There are tons of places to stay and I would not recommend this hotel..
