Historical Traveller Reviews of Ambassador Concorde Hotel
Excellent hotel
from njhThe rooms were large, clean and comfy with lots of storage. The Bathroom was more than adequate - the only strange thing was the seperate WC which apparently only comes with the Deluxe rooms. We didn't see the point to this as it was like going to the loo in a cupboard and not very pleasant at all!
However the location was great - 5minutes from La Fayette Mall and had two subways within 5 mins walk so convenient for travel to all tourist sites.
The only down side was that this hotel really is in the shopiing/downtown district so don't expect the beauty of the latin quarter - its very busy!
The staff were all friendly and helpful and the Restaurant Haussman had gorgeous evening meals some of te best food I've ever tasted- however it was a set menu so you couldn't dine there a lot and I wouldn't recommend the breakfast it was over priced and great!
I would recommend this hotel for couples and families and possibly business tripa- although the 'Business centre' as they call it is a tiny cold room with two quite slow computers in it - but on the plus side many rooms have internet connections in them anyway!
Wonderful choice
from Josie32Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side, this is paris after all.
Rooms decorated beautifully, big bathroom..
Bar area Gorgeous, great area to chill with a cocktail, friendly staff.
Superb meal in the hotel restaurant...
We would stay here again..
Excellent Choice
from A TripAdvisor MemberI always need a coffee to wake up so took the travel kettle, a good tip as they don't seem to have tea and coffee making facilities in French hotels.
Everything we hoped it would be
from TaraBBMagnificent time at the Ambassador and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Best things we did practically speaking? Unless youre on a tight budget, just take a cab from the airport and it saves you the headache of trying to figure out public transportation in your first hours in a foreign country....save the Roissy bus for the way back when you are more "experienced". Paris Visite card for the Metro and the Museum card were a real value.... the museum card lets you bypass any ticket lines at most attractions and even in November, there were lots of lines!PS, if you want to book at Le Jules Verne, dinner reservations are about 6 months in advance for any nite of the week. We had slim pickings for a lunch reservation and we booked 4 months ahead of time...
Nice room pity about the noisy machine outside window
from A TripAdvisor MemberNo tea/coffee making facilites and breakfast at €22 should have been included.
Room rather stuffy but if you opened the window then the noise was even louder.
If you stay in this hotel recommend you take ear plugs.
Stay away from this hotel

from Siam-OrchidsWonderful place to stay in Paris
from chrizanThe Ambassador is located in the center of everything. We took the Roissybus from Charles DeGaulle Airport for 8 euros. ( A taxi is 60!!)The bus stops a few blocks from the Hotel. The bus runs from 5:45 in the morning till about 7pm.(We also took the bus back for our return flight). A huge savings! By the way, do NOT take taxis. You can walk absolutely everywhere. We did take the Metro to PereLaChaise ( to see Jim Morrison's grave) and the front desk was incredibly helpful in giving directions.
Most of the staff speaks English, too. They were super nice. The hotel was extremely clean. The lobby is lovely! We actually picked up gourmet take out from Galleria Lafayette and had a picnic lunch in the lobby!
I can't wait to return to the Ambassador with my husband, hopefully next year. You will not be disappointed with this hotel!
Fantastic Experience at this hotel!
from dmackIn a nice business, shopping area in the center of Paris the Hotel Ambassador was a French delight. Near the Louvre, 1/2 a block from a metro station, and near dozens of great cafes and restaurants, it was fantastic. The staff was very professional, spoke excellent English and didn't make fun of my bad French. The concierge was extremely helpful in researching, making reservations and planning out our activities.
The room was surprisingly big with a king sized bed. It had a nice marble bathroom, with a separate room for the toilette, a desk, a round table, and two sitting chairs. The TV sat on a mahogany cabinet containing the minibar. There were two large mirrored double door closets, one of which had a hotel embossed umbrella for us to use on our stay.
The large bathroom was made entirely of a white/grey marble, had a shower and full tub with a curious glass door that covered half of the tub but could swing open to allow complete tub access. The bathroom came with 2 white fluffy soft robes and slippers with the hotels logo embroidered on them - nice!
The room had good air conditioning, though i could never get it really cold, which my wife liked, apparently I like it to be very cold in the 68-70 degrees range. The room was always comfortable and refreshing after walking on a warm day.
The room had a nice view that looked out over the street and had double pane windows, and two sets of doors, making for a very, very quiet room. There was a small balcony just big enough for me to enjoy a nice Cohiba cigar at the end of a busy day.
The hotel was in excellent condition, very well maintained, and quite beautiful. The elevators were tiny, and gave it a very a very European feel. The hotel staff was very efficient, kept our room in amazing condition as we can be messy, and there was a turn down service and a quick additional straightening up at about 6 pm. The hotel lobby was beautiful, and had a real French feel you can't get at an a "American" style hotel. I believe the hotel has a four star rating, so we expected it to be nice, but it far exceeded our expectations.
If anyone has any additional questions about the hotel or the area, I would be happy to answer them. I an going to attempt to upload some pictures to go along with this review for additional examples of this fine hotel!
Top Local Tips for Paris
Chartier Restaurant Chartier Restauarant is about 400metres from the hotel and is a bit of a Parisen 'must do'. Get there early if you do not want to queue outside for an hour for a table. It is not the best food you will eat in Paris, but the experience is one that you will take home with you.
Who knew Easter would be so crowded?! We were overwhelmed by enormous crowds throughout Easter weekend. I'd been to Pais in March before and was very surprised by the volume of people. Who knew that so many Europeans travel about over Easter weekend?! The lines everywhere were hours long and we didn't get to do a lot of things we would have liked to do. A couple of hints: at the Louvre, avoid the long ticket lines by going to the automated ticket machines located by the entrance to the hall leading to the shopping and Metro areas. We found it by accident and eliminated about an hour of line standing. Also, get a 'Passport' at one of the major Metro stops (like Invalides) for your Versailles day trip. It gives you your roundtrip train, entrance fee, and audioguide also allowing you to skip the long Versailles lines.
