Marche aux fleurs at the Cours Saleya The open-air market offers flowers, food, art and trinkets. Pick up a bagette, brie and some fresh strawberries for a picnic near the beach.

Make use of the tram! If your hotel is located near Nice's main north-to-south thoroughfare (Avenue de Jean Medecin), then you can make use of the excellent tram service. This costs 1 Euro per journey and is a handy, quick way of getting to and from the old town / beach.

Eating well Restaurants in Vieux Nice are lovely but avoid 'The Pelican' - very tasteless interior, similarly to the food - vegetarian options are served with meat!
