Amazing service

What made this hotel special was something that happened after we left.
My daughter left her cell phone behind in the room. The maid found it and turned it in to the management. They called the number in the US I gave when I made the booking to find out where we were going next and then called that hotel. They mailed the cell phone to my daughter who is living in Spain and she received it within two days. To me, this was more important than the reasonabe rate, great location, comfortable rooms, etc.

Just returned from my visit to Nice - We were initially scheduled to stay at Le Grimaldi only 3 nights and then move to another hotel outside Eze for the other two nights. We were so pleased with this hotel that we extended our stay for all 5 nights of our trip - european hotel rooms are generally smaller than those in the US - for that reason we upgraded our room from Superior to a Jr Suite - everything was just perfect - the linens were crisp - the room was clean, bathroom was sparkling, we fell in love with the soaps they stock in the bathroom, our suite was on the top floor and had two bathrooms, sitting area and a balcony - the staff was very helpful and attentive, we never ate at the hotel, only had coffee, it is very convieniently located and walking distance to the train station, and the restuarants in the pedestrian areas (old town). This was excellent value for the money.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay here.Everything about the hotel was high quality, from the Christmas decorations in the foyer to the room furnishings, and the fittings in the huge bathroom.The staff were helpful and indulged my desire to try my French, even though they spoke perfect English. Although not on the sea front the position is convenient to everything in Nice on foot or by the excellent bus service.Looking at rates of other hotels this was good value.My only slight criticism was the 13 euro buffet breakfast, which was good, but not I think worth that amount

The hotel was nice and basic, no luxurious interior.My room was a junior suite and it was ok, with a large balcony and two small but beautiful bathroom.The bed comfortable but too short for a man.The staff was not so friendly and the breakfast was terrific and too expensive for the few things they had. Hext stay I'll try La Perouse.

i highly recommend the hotel grimaldi. it has been recently remodeled with very spacious accomodations and wonderful provencal decor. if a sea view is not important, it's a great value in a convenient location.

We stayed at Le Grimaldi in April (sorry I'm late getting to a review), but it was wonderful. Would definitely stay there again if traveling to Nice. The staff was great and the room was large and clean. The bathroom was nicely tiled with a separate shower, soaking tub, and double sink. The shampoo, lotion, and soaps were made with olive oil and very nice.
While in Nice I had a chance to check out several other hotels and didn't find any (including the artsy Hi) that compared to Le Grimaldi.

Great room/Great rate

I was so lucky to have found this hotel via tripadvisor.All the positive reviews were correct..this hotel is a small gem.Our room was large with a great view.We were in the new section so ask for it upon arrival.The location is central and the staff friendly and helpful.P.S.,it is a bargain especially if you book at Orbitz

We stayed in Le Grimaldi between 25th of September and 1st of October.
This Hotel was one of the best we've ever been and what a bargain it was! We had the "cheapest" standard room for 95 euros, but that wasn't too small at all. Bathroom was big and well equipped. Everyhting was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was brilliant; friendly, helpful and professional. We were there on our honeymoon and as soon as we got in to our room the receptionist followed us with a bottle of Champagne in ice and couple of glasses with a nice greeting card from the manager. Staff organiced every trip and table reservation quickly as we needed them. Ten points for them! Room had a good airconditioning and also nice wiev with a small balcony. Hotel has a perfect location.

We will defenately stay in this hotel if we ever get back to Nice, which we probably will... ;) I have to recommend also a fantastic restaurant we enjoyed. This quite new restaurant is called "Jouni" and it's located in "Rue Lascaris" near the Nice harbour. There's a Finnish chef who's worked in 6 Michelin star restaurant in Paris and also in The Chantecler (two Michelin star restaurant in Hotel Negresco). He makes exceptionally delicious Mediterranean dishes. It's no the cheapest restaurant, but surely good value for money. We had a menu with a bottle of fine wine for 120-130 euros (two people).

Wonderful hotel, good location close to everything. Room was beautiful and well-priced ($165 for deluxe). Had a lovely balcony with view of church. Nice big bathroom with separate shower, deluxe toiletries.
Staff could not have been more helpful. Good air conditioning, wonderful breakfast. I thought initially it was expensive (breakfast at 13 Euro) but it is so beautifully presented and delicious it was worth it. Cool artwork by Adrien Moroni.

Perfect, sweet hotel

"Le Grimaldi" is a warm and friendly boutique hotel in a lovely location in Nice. Removed just enough from the busiest area, it was great to come back to peace and quiet after a day of sightseeing, shopping and beach. I had a relatively large and extremely bright and happy room, done in sunshiny Provencal colors that lifted me the minute I walked in. The staff was very helpful with advice and efficient with getting me out to make an early train on the last morning. The value is incomparable. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Top Local Tips for Nice
Day Trips We had two great day trips, first to Monaco and Monte Carlo easily accessible by train from Nice, secondly to a quaint hill top village with beautiful views, St. Paul de Vence a 40 minute bus ride (no. 400) from the central Gare Routiere.
Old town A visit to the old town is a must
