This Hotel is very clean and comfortable, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My wife and I spent 4 nights here after deciding to have a short break to relax and will definately return. The lift was out of order due to the servicing and renevations BUT there is a small lift which can be used as well as stairs. I would recommend this hotel to friends, family and anyone wanting a good night sleep in Nice. Situated very centrally, 5 minutes from the beach!!

Top Local Tips for Nice

Public transport Nice/Cote d'Azur Be sure to do these two rail trips: Take the 09 00 train from Nice to Tende up in the mountains. A stunning train ride and you'll easily fill the time in Tende before taking the 14 05 Italian railways train to Ventimille then back along the coast to Nice. Also, have a ride on the narrow guage railway from Nice to Plan du Var and, if you've time, through to Digne. Station in NIce is to the north of the main SNCF station. A really brilliant train ride that starts off in the streets of Nice, most entertaining!

LUNCH We ate at Safari in the flower market. Great food - I had the special, John Dory with risotto - it was delicious. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

take a guided tour We took the all day med tour to Eze, Monte Carlo, Monacco, Cannes, Antibes and St Paul de Vence. It costs €70 on each Tuesday and Sunday and each other day costs €78. There is adaquate time at each stop to savour the atmosphere, take photos of the amazing scenery, to buy some souveniors and grab a bite to eat. The bus always leaves on time and is very professionally carried out. It is a long day, over eight hours, however it is very interesting to see these beautiful places, It is a personal experience as there are normally around eight tourists per minibus. The tour guide we had on the tour was very informative and friendly. However, I don't think the all day tour would suit young children, it is too long, but there are half day tours also. I would certainly recommend it, if you are intersted in seeing the french countryside and some of the most famous places in Provence. Definitely not to be missed!
