Get a map before you arrive I left my Nice map at home, silly I know and we struggled to find our hotel!

DONT ALWAYS GO WITH THE OBVIOUS The main point i would make is, The cheaper,possibly less glamourous dining options can be the best. Take a chance. Also, dont expect it to be something it isnt. Nice, is a city, with issues the same as most other cities, keep your witts about you, dont be fooled by people holding out a cup for money, some of them are living better than you or I. just dont think your going for trip to the seaside, its alot more than that. hopefully in a good way. . . bev .

Nice- a few little things to know Nice has an excellent transport system, when you arrive at the airport it is easier to catch the bus into town then walk to the train station. For some reason there is no shuttle bus from the airport to the train station and if you have luggage you won't want to walk all the way to the station. Taxis from the airport are quite expensive considering the short distance from the airport to the city. Bus no 98 and 99 will take you directly into Nice and are the best option for getting into the city, you can buy a one day pass that gives you unlimited travel on the bus and tram network for 4Euros. You can purchase these from the driver or at a kiosk outside the terminal. Trains run all along the riviera and are quite cheap and reliable. And with Monaco and San Remo in one direction and Toulon and Marseille in the other you wont be spoilt for days out. Even the fussiest of eaters won't go hungry as there are literally hundreds of restaurants to choose.
