If your idea of holiday heaven is to wander aimlessly up and down the Promenade des Anglais and gaze across a pebbled beach at the sea, or if you are daunted by a flight of steps, this charming little 2-star hotel with self-catering studios perched at the foot of Mount Boron overlooking Nice is not for you. If, however, Nice means the picturesque port and yacht marina, dinghy sailing at the nearby Club Nautique, or buying cheap local wine, freshly caught seafood, delicious Provencal fruit and vegetables, freshly baked crusty bread and patisserie in the famed Nice markets and artisan bakeries surrounding the city's stunning Old Quarter to rustle up your own feasts and dine on a flower-bedecked patio, Claire Hotel is your shangri la.
