Top Local Tips for Nice
Nice place but... Nice is a lovely city. The view can be amazing. It's a great place to stay if you want to travel around - you can easily take the train to other destinations. The beach is all rocks ...the city is very expensive, very touristic and French people are, well...French - they are rude, arrogant and mostly careless about good services. The gay scene is almost non-existent.

Everything Nice! The weather was fabulous from Dec. 26, 2007 through January 2, 2008 with the exception of one cloudy, windy day. Otherwise we enjoyed sunshine and an avg. of 57 degrees. A drive along the Riviera is a must. Stop frequently, enjoy wine on the seafront. There's delicious food at every turn, mostly Italian. Seek out the open air markets and flea markets for unique shopping experiences. We also enjoyed touring medieval villages in neighboring towns, particularly Gourdon (enjoy ravioli topped with pesto and a glass of Blanc at the restaurant overlooking the deep valley as handgliders swoop down over you ... astounding view!).
