Things just kept getting worse!
Chef had walked out, so no evening meals.
Hotel located at leat 1-1.5mile walk out of town or to the nearest restuarant. No transfers to the slope, bus service non existent, taxis @24euros or 1.5mile trek in ski boots carrying skis!!
We stayed 4 nights and the rooms not cleaned once.

We have just returned from a weeks stay The Ridge Hotel, and I have to say it was the best holiday that we have had in a long time, in fact the best ever in The Alps!

We were immediately made very welcome by the friendly, professional staff who gave us lots of helpful advice, as this was our first time in this beautiful village.

We loved the contemporary style of this very clean, well-run hotel. My husband and his two sons loved the sky sports on the big screen and my daughter loved the fact that she could connect Wi-Fi day and night!

But most of all we loved the fantastic food (even my fussy daughter was well catered for!) the very comfortable beds, super views from the balcony, short stroll into the charming village and the easy access to Ardents for skiing in the super Portes du Soleil (bus stop right outside) with easy parking at the hotel.

The sun shone, the snow stayed good for fantastic skiing, we met some lovely people and laughed allot.

We will definitely return and hopefully in the summer as well. But don't take my word for it, go see for yourselves!

A group of 16 is never easy to organise for a ski holiday and it's always a worry when booking accommodation as if it all goes completely wrong then I'm the one to blame... The Ridge hotel was my best choice yet! We had a mixture of rooms and all where minimanilst and clean. Very comfy beds and nice white linen. Modern bathrooms was a blessing having seen too many french 1970's bathrooms in my time.
One of the best things about the ridge was the staff... we all had a superb time and where really made to feel welcome with no question to annoying (there are always plenty of these with groups of our size!). The cool looking bar is the focal point for the evenings and the cocktail list is one that has to be sampled - as we did on numerous occasions. It was half-board and we all rated the food served very highly.
Overall I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone wishing to ski in morzine and avoriaz. It's definitely a great hotel for groups and makes a nice change to get service from a competent team that really know their stuff...

We stayed as a group last winter for a boarding holiday and all really enjoyed the ridge. It's got a great bar which we ended up spending most nights in ... after the food and a long day on the mountain it was perfect not having to go into town. All of our rooms were clean and functional with nice new bathrooms. This actually makes a change compared to some of the french hotels we've staed in with carpets on the walls! we came back this summer to watch the tour de france and do some mountain biking... again it was even more relaxing. I would reccomend this hotel to those that are seeking good clean accommodation at a good price. I'm going back again for my third trip this winter so they must be doing something write.

Top Local Tips for Morzine

Les Rhodos Bar & Restaurant The owners of the Ridge Hotel where we stayed also own the Rhodos Bar and Restuarant. They gave us some vouchers for a free bottle of wine if we ate there and so we wondered down for some food... amazing! They have redone the whole place and it must now be the trendiest place to eat and drink in morzine. the food was excellent and didn't smell a raclette all night... plus it was non-smoking. I've just seen that you can get the free wine by pre-booking so type it into google and it should come up.
