Went as part of a group of 12 from England, group leader saying people return every year. After long coach journey welcomed by staff with breakfast, then were asked to pay, full board didnt start till the next day. Every morning we were greeted with strong smell of sewage and breakfast consisting of stale bread and cold fried eggs. Toilets not cleaned regularly, no en-suite, and no separate facilities for men and women, leading to interesting sticky floors! Dinner at best was youth hostel standard, the free wine was only fit for cleaning the bathroom floor and probably the only liquid acidic enough. Ended up leaving after 3 days and making own way home.

although the location was excellent we found the isolation suffocating. Having children with us, we found restricted as alot of rules were placed on what they could and couldnt do. it seemed they were treated as an inconvenience rather than paying guests and although the food was excellent for the adults, nuggets and chips was the general fare for the kids, not the kind of nutrition we felt they needed for a active skiing holiday. We did find the staff to be supportive and helpful, although disorganised at times, perhaps a change in management would rectify this. The hotel does need alot of work as stated above and we feel it would suit a younger childless skier, but as parents we will not be returning.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was very good, however it has gone very down hill. The attidute of the staff is very unhelpfull and they all seem as if they don't really want to be there. The building is becoming very warn and looking unloved it needs both time and money spending on it.

We stayed at this hotel and I think during the same week as this person (All LIES review). I'm most amazed to hear of these negative comments. We have stayed at the hotel many times and at other hotels over the years and have never experienced a bad holiday here. (We have booked again incidentally). The remarks about the management are a little bit unfair. Brown-nosing basically means that the managers are looking after their guests well...surely and I vaguely remember Steven (the manager) making a wonderful cake for this chap's daughter Birthday which was definitely appreciated at the time. Perhaps this type of holiday was just not for them but after 26 years of trading this holiday must be doing something right. Yes the food was excellent and the location is second to none as you can ski in / out. Keep up the good work and thanks Lynne for sorting out all out travel issues.

The location of the hotel does give it a certain something but that is all. Being marooned halfway up a mountain in a small pokey shabbily decorated hotel can be a drain in bad weather. Especially when having to contend with the brown nosing of the management team who seemed to have no respect for the rest of their staff members, who were seen to work hard and long days, whilst they went out skiing. I did not want to talk to someone I had nothing in common with, and would have preferred to not have had Steve, the manager, droning on at me each time I saw him. Excellent food though, but expensive for what it is. Claim of a full time nanny and modern selection of skis are lies though. The selection of skis available for hire at extortionate rates was bitterly disappointing, the newest pair being several years old, and the boots were even older!

We came across this chalet at the ski show and decided to give it a go with a group of 40 our friends. Everyone agreed at the end of the holiday this was probably one of the best they had ever had. ok, this is not 5 star accommodation but it was certainly 5 star service ; food, staff, location, staff, skiing and staff!. We all came on the sleeper coach from England on the Friday which is not as bad as it sounds and in actual fact it gives you 8 days skiing and you don't have worry to baggage and ski costs i.e. easy jet! The hotel is situated half way up a mountain and the only way to get to it was a cable car, which the kids loved. We were promptly met with bacon butties, tea and coffee and within the hour we were on the slopes. The back door to the hotel leads straight onto the slopes and you then have access to over 650 km of ski terrain!!! We had an excellent ski chamois ski guide for the week who showed us around the stunning scenery. All skis, boots and passes can be purchased at the hotel straight after your bacon butties which made it really easy. It saved us having to trek across the town to all the different shops!! We loved this bit. Afternoon tea comprises of some the best homemade cakes I've ever had and consumed with hot chocolate, Tea or coffee or even happy hour drinks from the bar it makes a great finale to the skiing day. Evening meals are cooked by a team of chefs who have worked here for a number of seasons and provided us with excellent home made, really tasty food...and boy those portions were big which is just as well because in the evening you could either retire to the lounge upstairs or join in the activities in the bar area; quiz night, karaoke, fancy dress, sledging, games nights etc. All in all, Steve and Brione who managed the hotel made sure that we had the best holiday of our lives. The finer details are the most important in a holiday and they provided us with plenty of information to make sure that everything ran smoothly. We have already booked for next year... thanks guys!
