Top Local Tips for Morzine
Great places for lunch on the slopes We found 2 great places for lunch that we would definitely recommend: the first is called Le Vieux Chalet in the Chatel area at a place called Plaine Dranse, it is a beautiful location, great food and an amazing grotto like place. The second is called Le Vaffieu at the top of the Belvedere and Fys lifts on the Morzine slopes, really friendly cosy place with great food.
Fantastic crepe stand! In the village of Morzine, adjacent to the bottom of the main lift, is a crepe stall that is really fantastic. It does galettes and crepes, sweet and savoury. The lady who runs it also makes jars of things like home made lemon curd that you can buy to take home. We got very fat because we couldn't resist scoffing pancakes at tea time, in between the inevitable tartiflette lunch and the fab Philibert supper!

The front door was locked most nights from about 9 o'clock. and there would be no staff in the chalet. There is a door with a keypad to gain access after midnight (front desk would be unmanned and door would be locked hours before this) but we were not told of code for door till after first night. We had to spend the night sleeping in the car.
