Top Local Tips for Marseille

Bouillabaisse Don't visit Le Miramar, you will pay over the odds and the service is truely terrible. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had - I used to be a restaurent reviewer so have had my fair share of them!

bouillabaisse warning genuine bouillabaisse is expensive (90 euros). Make reservation at least a day ahead and be warned that bouillabaisse at some well known restaurants are not guaranteed on the menu based on the fisherman catch that morning. We went to L'Escale at the city edge but were disappointed because of the fishermen could not catch the appropriate fish for the soup. nevertheless, the seafood at L'escale was very good and great service.

City Pass Buy a City Pass for two days for 27 Euros which is good value for public transport, a boat trip to Chateau D'If , and many museum entries
