Hope the worst does not happen to you We learnt from the police that they received over a thousand complaints per day. If nothing terrible happened to you, then you can emjoy the positive side of Marseille otherwise it will ruin your entire trip. Perhaps one should take the limited amount of cash for the day and visit the bank machine everyday. The alternative is to bring all the valuables with you hoping that you are not robbed. Until the hotel steps up its security, I don't think it is safe for tourists.

Callanques Catch a number 21 bus to Luminey from outside the shopping centre and get off at Luminey. This takes about 30 - 40 minutes. Then follow the signs for the Callanques and after about 40 minutes you can climb down to beautiful little coves by the sea. Good walking shoes with plenty of grip are essential. It is a really lovely place to spend the day. You will need to bring a picnic as it is miles from anywhere!
