The hotel was clean basic and functional at a budget price. It was centrally located within the city but in a quiet side street so city life was not a disturbance. Staff was polite and courteous.

Top Local Tips for Marseille

Boat trip to see the Calanques (cliffs) This was a great outing to see the magnificent cliffs, inlets and bays around Marseille. It cost 25 euros, but for a 3 hour trip, with a guide explaining all the sites, it was well worth it.

Airport to Place Castellane We paid 60 Euro for a one-way taxi from Marseille MP2 to Citadines. The journey is about 25 mins. It is much cheaper to catch the shuttle bus, but we arrived late at night and did not want the hassle of catching public transport to a central point, THEN having to catch a taxi for a shorter distance.Take all this into account when booking supposedly cheap flights, as things like this make your bargain not as much of a bargain as you first thought!!
