The room was barely okay althoug both my husband and I got a lot of bites during the night - not sure what kind of bugs..the room was very noisy and looked into the most disgusting ally. the courtyard we had to go through to get to our room was filthy - a scooter covered in cobwebs and pigeon poop! The worst thing was that the woman at the office told us we were welcome to leave our luggage at the hotel behind the desk as our train wasn't leaving until 6:30pm. She assured us that the hotel would be open for us to collect our luggage and that the only time the hotel was closed was beween noon and 2pm. Later in the afternoon it started to thunder and rain so we headed to the hotel to collect our luggage around 4 in hopes of catching an earlier train home. When we arrived at the hotel it was closed! there was a note stuck to the inside of window in the door but it was facing into the office so we could not read it! We went into the courtyard and knocked on the other hotel rooms to see fi we could find someone that worked there to let us into the office but there was nobody around. We waited until 5 thinking she would be there by 5 as we had said we would be back at 5 for our luggage...still nobody came at 5. We tried to phone several times but no answer - at first there was a recorded message then nothing...the people at the cafe across the street were very nice and tried to help but to no avail. Finally around -6:10 some other guests were heading to their room and we asked them if they knew how we could get our luggage - they didn't but tried to phone again and finally the woman answered and eventually came to the door to let us in. she looked like she just woke up!! she had nothing to say and just looked stunned so we took our bags and ran to the metro to try to catch our train which of course we missed. It was so frustrating - knowing our luggage was there and our train would be leaving but not able to do anything! It is very poorly run. three sets of people arrived while we were waiting - they had their guidebooks and were looking for accommodation but all turned and left as the office was closed! Don't stay here!

I found this hotel a bit seedy, but the room itself was clean and neat. However, my reservation was lost and when I paid for a new room at the adjoining Hotel Boulevardier, unbeknownst to me, I had already been charged for the first reservation at Hotel Iris which has still not been reimbursed.Given, they did give us a free breakfast for the dropped reservation so that was nice, but I recommend you not give this establishment your credit card number. It was apparently only meant as a "guaratee" and they were never going to charge anything on it, but they did, and now I have been double billed. Getting the repayment has been a nightmare despite my phone calls to the hotel manager, M. Cedric Bernard, who promised a reimbursement which has still not shown up a month later. It is sufficient accomodation for little money so if that's what you're looking for, this is it. Just pay in cash only.
