Top Local Tips for Lille
Museum Visit We were highly recommended by a local Lille resident to visit the Piscine Museum in Roubaix (about 10k outside of Lille). Unfortunately time did not allow us to go there but it did sound fantastic.
Further afield We took the train to Tournai in Belgium for a day trip; this takes about 20 minutes from the Lille Flandres station. Tournai is a pretty place to wander around, with an impressive cathedral, some great views from the belfry and a great Grand Place full of cafes (sampling Belgian beer is a must!) and most surprising fountains!
Over priced and average quality vs. other European cities This town will remain a place to catch a connection rather than a destination.
