Top Local Tips for Lille

Footwear The pavements and roads of the old town of Lille where all the interesting buildings etc are located, are of cobble stones so wear flat comfortable shoes

Rue du Gard If you are visiting at a weekend, book ahead if you plan on diding at one of the restaurants in the above street

The Grizzly Bar (or something like that!) just off the Grand Place We ate well and cheaply there one night. Extensive buffet/salad bar was 'inclus' so, two large salads, two main courses (lasagne and roti de porc), a bottle of water and a large beer came to about é25 (£17). Service a bit slow but very pleasant and friendly.
