It may be close to the main city but not close enough in my opinion. The walk to the centre was easy enough but with the flyovers it was hard to work out directions and a detour was inevitable. It was a bit annoying passing so many central hotels whilst on our way back to ours in a cab! Fortunately it wasn't far and only about £5-6 in a cab to the centre. For a short stay this is acceptable but any longer definitely not. The hotel itself had a nice room and lovely shower. Unfortunately the air conditioning was quite stuffy.. after a shower the room was steamed up completely and on awaking I had very puffy eyes.. ! The mirrored wardrobes were great and loads of hangers. The TV English channels were really poor. CNN and that was that. The pay per view was useless. The bed had that horrid prickly brown blanket.. and a bedspread that was torn and damaged. The breakfast was good and you had until 10am so no rushing. The staff were very polite and helpful. I read a recent review of the towels being scratchy so brought one with me - fortunately I did not have to use it as they had perfectly nice towels there ! In conclusion I would suggest a central hotel is preferable but this hotel was perfectly pleasant.

Top Local Tips for Lille

Market and Park People should definately go to the Sunday Market at Wazemme and also to the park. It is lovely to walk around and even has a free zoo!!!!!

Use the Tram If you are staying north of the city use the tram to get into and out of the city centre. It is cheap and very reliable and frequent even on a Sunday.
