Fantastic location, food brilliant

A group of 44 of us stayed here in March 2009, our age range is actually 9 months to 60 years (ish). This hotel is the best located hotel we've ever stayed in for proximity to the slopes and the main lift up the mountain. We stayed half board and the food on offer was fabulous, a wide selection and good quality, even the fussy eaters were happy! The rooms are of a good quality, very clean and new looking, ideal for a ski holiday. We still can't believe this is classed as a 2 star hotel!
The cafe/restaurant attached to the hotel that looks out onto the beginners slopes is very good although the food is not cheap, there is so much of it that after the first day we all went halves on any food we ordered.
Only a couple of minor let downs for us:
1) The bar closed at midnight regardless of how many people are in there and were not open to negotiations to keep it open.
2) On arrival in resort in the middle of the afternoon our rooms were not ready, which is quite annoying when we purposely travel early so we can ski the first afternoon.

Other than that this hotel is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone, a smaller group of us may well return in the future.

We stayed at this hotel just before Easter and were very impressed. It is a 2 star but didn't show it. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and well appointed with shower and bath as well as a separate toilet. The balcony overlooked the Pistes with furniture to sit out. The half-board buffet food was mind blowing in its variety and quality - even had live music one evening - and as much free wine and water as you wanted with dinner. The basement bar was open late and always had some entertainment on.

If I was forced to knock it, the only things I would have liked were Tea and Coffee facilities in the room and a safe. The hotel will lock your documents in their main safe if you ask though. Many of you would say that is just too much to expect of a 2 Star though.

The hotel was located almost on top of the main express lift and right next to the ESF Ski/board school. The ESF instructors had a good reputation and lived up to it. The ski hire was a few minutes walk away and the hotel had complementary ski lockers for guests. The high street shops and bars were a stone throw away but it wasn't noisy.

In all honesty, I defy anyone to better it and we will be returning.
