We first used Le Grizzli in the summer of 2003 when our honeymoon accommodation failed to materialise (don't ask) and we found ourselves in this smashing French village with nowhere to sleep. Simple, clean rooms, most with a spa-bath and views of the picturesque village church or Mont Jolie. Marc and Florence Franquet are very helpful (Marc speaks superb English) and are very hands-on. There is a drying room for ski gear and parking for perhaps 12 cars. We have since stayed at Le Grizzli on 4 more occasions (most recently Feb 2006) and will be stopping there again in late March for some late season skiing. As a base for skiing, walking, mountain biking or any other Alpine activities, situated centrally in a sleepy, friendly and beautiful Alpine village, it ticks all the boxes. The Hilton it isn’t but for €60 a night for a double room it does what it says on the tin.
