Noisy- no parking- no staff or trolly

Booked for four nights but only stayed one. Parking only in town car park 600 yds away. No staff to help carry cases or offer a trolly to carry cases on. Did not have coffe in the room and not available only earl grey tea !!!!. Noisy, unless both outer windows closed. did not get to sleep until 4am. Never again - too rough clientele.

We loved this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly. Location was absolutely perfect. Go out the front door or the back door and you are in the middle of eateries and you can sit and watch the world go by in total relaxation. Our room was very spacious. I wanted to take my bed home as it was so comfortable. We didn't bother with breakfast, just went out the back door and had coffee in a restaurant. The price was very reasonable for our stay. A definate "must go back"!

Top Local Tips for La Rochelle

Airport Quite close to the airport, so spent a bit more time in the shops or whatever! About 15-20 minutes will get you there.

La Rochelle Aquarium - A MUST SEE - Well worth the entrance fee. Give yourself PLENTY OF TIME - At the very least 3 hours - A BRILLIANT place with loads of weird and wonderful sea creatures. Especially loved the Horseshoe Crab, Octopus, Cuttlefish, Sharks, Sea Turtle, Unicorn Fish, Sea Horses and HUGE eels. Plus loads and loads of others. Well worth the entrance fee.

Taxi Fares Make sure your taxi driver zeros the metre. We didnt and noticed just after he started off that the metre was already quite high. This resulted in us being overcharged by 5 euros
