My wife and I were totally impressed with the Terra Nova. We came with few expectations and were so happy with the quality of service, food and facilities. The staff were very friendly and the food was substantial, being a Crystal Ski guest we got a free bottle of wine too with dinner every night. Ski to the door was ace and we would definately return.

I came to the hotel with no expectations. After being here for three days, I came to the conclusion that this was the best budget hotel I ever been in my whole life.

Best *** ski hotel I've stayed in. Not pretty on the outside, but good rooms with hairdryers and shower gel, no less. Excellent choice of food, great views at breakfast, ski and boot hire is in the hotel, plus easy ski-in ski-out to Paradiski area. Not much nightlife, but I'd stay there again.

We found the Terra Nova to be an excellent 3 star hotel. The staff were polite and attentive, rooms of a good standard and the buffet style dinner each night was excellent.

Not too much for the brit to do at night.
Nice hotel. Very french at night. but the best we have had in La Plagne centre.
Going on Saturday 7th Jan 06.

The food was very good. The rooms were good by french standards, plenty of hot water, clean w/c bathroom and bedrooms.

Top Local Tips for La Plagne

Skiing with novices Be careful with younger children because the blue runs are quite difficult and many are more like red runs. The ski area is vast though so you should find something. It's a fantastic area for intermediates and the ski lifts are excellent - fast and efficient.

Ski Hire Savings - worth checking out While there is a Ski Hire concession in the basement of the hotel which is convenient, substantial savings can be made by hiring gear from Ski Republic in Plagne Centre which is only a short walk. Gear can be booked in advance over the internet. Ski Republic staff friendly and helpful and our equipment was of a good spec and good condition.

Watch out for theft Watch out for petty theft.
