Not the worst, but ranks with the worst...

I should really have trusted my first impressions of this dreadful hotel and left immediately, but I had been driving all day. It was late and getting dark and I was tired, hungry and desperate. The smell of damp at reception, and the fact that the 2 star rating no longer had a date attached should have had me forewarned but my judgement was clearly impaired.
The room was expensive at 47euros and it absolutely stank with smoke. Whoever had made up the bed clearly hadn't even bothered to open the window to let it out. The lights in the bathroom flickered and the door of the shower was hanging off. I could have coped with all this, but I made an even greater mistake than staying in this place. I decide to eat there as well. Again the price of the food was barbaric (37euros for the set menu)and to be honest the food was very ordinary. The cheapest wine on offer was 20 euros a bottle and I think it was the very worst I have ever tasted. While breakfast was passable (it's hard to go wrong with croissants, bread an coffee) the sight of last night's dinner dishes still gracing the table of the restaurant was unedifying to say the least. I was desperate for accommodation as I have said, but if it ever happens again I think I'll sleep in the car. Avoid this place.

This is a very poor hotel which is charging too much for what is graded a 2* hotel.
From the rotten stinking pillows and dank revolting bathroom to the owner of the hotel who served food whilst holding the hankerchief which she was blowing her nose on , profusely.
The food servings both at supper and breakfast were both mean and way too expensive.
The top of the wardrobe had bags of rubbish, Edam rinds and dust the like I have not seen before and the loo brush, which stank the bathrooom out was a serious health and safety concern.
La Fleche is an attractive town but this hotel with its proximity to the river Loire should be avoided at all cost.
