Good location in calais...nice view of the market square below. Our room was a bit on the smelly side however it was reasonably clean. (smelled of smoke, possibly becasue of smoking guests, more effort should perhaps of been made by the management to ensure the room remained smoke free.) room could do with re decorating. Bathroom also has a nice view.(no curtain on bathroom window!) corridors were badly decorated and smelt stuffy. overall fairly cheap, ideal for a small budget. Satisfactory hotel. |

Charming, charming, charming....bewitched or enchanted, both you will be, as were my Prince Charming and I! This is exactly the place where Gary Cooper would have invited Audrey Hepburn for a little "Love in the Afternoon" coz the Ritz lost its discretion nowadays.
In the middle of Paris, just 2 blocks from the "Grands Boulevards" and 10 min. walk from the "Opera Garnier", in a quiet, secluded and very characteristic old street of Paris, I have found this hidden and newly renovated, freshly refurbished Boutique Hotel. The lobby already enthralls with its Eiffel glass roof and the reception area captures ones attention with the very imaginative decoration of an authentic Boing 747, which gives you the illusion of still walking in the clouds.
The rooms are very spacious, immaculate and decorated with love and care, keeping the typical parisian style but upgraded with a modern minimalist flair. The colors are especially very subtly chosen, a palette of pastel, implying tranquility and sensuality. Brand new bathrooms, with an agreeably surprising good water-pressure.
Charming, once more, as well as prompt, the staff with its fluent english, alluring French accent and unmissable avant-garde French poise...c'est la vie en rose...
The croissants I discussed are exquisite, especially dipped into my "chocolat chaud" , languishing still in bed, whilst I was scanning through the freshly delivered "Herald Tribune", as Breakfast is taken by the classy epicurean French always in bed! Do as the French do, before darting in a new day of Parisian exploration...
For families, or more conventional lovers, there are also rooms with connecting doors and an elaborate breakfast buffet....
TV & Wifi, are there, but I suggest you ignore it if you can, and just enjoy your stay at this delightful Hotel and make the best out of it! |
