Friendly and Exceptional service and food

A quiet, friendly hotel with a wonderful swimming pool with friendly staff. The rooms are clean and worth the money asked. We have been going there for 25 years and have never had cause to complain.
Do not stay at this hotel!

I am not a neophyte traveler when it comes to France. Since my first visit, I've returned more than 100 times: five times in 2006.
This particular hotel-restaurant is, in my opinion, one of the worst I've visited. I strongly advise clients to avoid it like the plague.
My wife and I arrived at the hotel about 3:00. The cost for the room was 160 Euros for a small room on the second floor. There was no elevator, no offer of help with the suitcases from reception.
We came to the restaurant at 7:45, but there was confusion from the staff about the table I had reserved earlier in the day.
Service was very slow. I ordered two wines, but nothing came to us for 20 minutes. I ordered the same wines again and ten minutes later, the white wine appeared. I asked for the red wine (third request) and it came to us after another ten minutes.
No waiter poured wine for the table. I poured it myself all evening.
First course was acceptable, medium quality, but not one-star Michelin.
I ordered risotto with fish for the entrée. After a long wait, it arrived at our table, but was cold. I ate about 50% and sent the rest back to the kitchen.
Knife and fork for the entrée came to me dirty. I washed them in the water of the wine cooler.
Dirty dishes and glasses were left on our table for more than 30 minutes, even after I complained.
In my opinion, the hotel has bad service. The price is far too high, compared with other hotels in the same part of France.
In my opinion, the service in the restaurant was terrible.
In my opinion, the quality of the food was unacceptable.
I strongly recommend that this hotel-restaurant NOT be included in the next edition of the Michelin red guide, nor in any other, for that matter.
