The Tulip Inn Hotel Angleterre in Grenoble is a great value with excellent service and location. It is next to the Old Town on the main tram line. There is a tram stop one block from the hotel at Victor Hugo, so it is an easy trip to and from the main train station, which is a 10 minute walk. There are numerous stores and restaurants within a three minute walk from the hotel – including a McDonalds, Monoprix and Galeries Layfayette. Service at the hotel is excellent and most of the front desk staff is fluent in English. There is free wireless in all rooms. You can also rent DVDs at the front desk and there is a DVD player in most of the rooms. The rooms on the front of the hotel open to Victor Hugo square - a fantastic view. I have stayed in the one four star in Grenoble and have found the three star Angleterre to be superior.
