We have stayed in this hotel near La Reole, Gironde on several occasions. It is very French Provincial, with some chickens on site. Plenty of casual parking. The restaurant food is very high class with cooking by the owner's son, be sure to book in advance for Friday and weekends. Breakfast is adequate but not much choice. Rooms are clean, tidy and again very French, i.e. no frills and no real bath towels (they look like kitchen towels!). But strangely, they are decorated in Laura Ashley paper. Must love dogs (and cats) here as the owner, a very French provincial lady has a couple of small dogs and cats, which are visible in, and around the restaurant and reception. Ask to speak to her chef son if you have no French. There is an attractive garden to the front, which sets this hotel back from the main road to dull its occasional traffic noise. Not far from the ancient town of La Reole (other restaurants and facilities) and a multitude of wine growing areas. Nice river and countryside.

In an area not over full with hotels this is probably the best choice.
