After two extended stays at the Hotel du Parc, I can recommend it without reservation. While doing research at the Palais des Nations (the UN headquarters in Geneva), I stayed in Gex to avoid the high cost of hotels and restaurants in Geneva. Gex is a delightful French town in the foothills of the mountains. The hotel's rooms for one can be small and spartan (and, thank God, cheap), but the friendly hotel staff and the welcoming restauranteurs of the town make up for the room. Gex is an excellent "jumping off point" for visiting nearby Geneva, and the Hotel du Parc is an excellent way of affording to visit or work in Geneva.
